World news and politics.

You know shooting someone from 200 yards isn't no crazy amateur job.
I have only shot someone from close range so I can't comment, but speaking to someone in the know, they said that even though it was a decent shot, a pro would probably have aimed for the body.

But that goes back to what Muz said about maybe it deflected up - or just he/she/they were an amateur but decent shot.

Yeah hearing different stories here. Most of the blokes on the comments are saying it's not a big deal with a decent rifle and scope.

It is funny them saying it's Mossad and a plane took off half an hour later from a nearby airfield and turned it's transponder off, and the plane is registered to a shell company and the owner of said company lives in China.

My favourite bit is they're saying Trump's speech from the Whitehouse was AI and they're showing photos today saying he's had a stroke. If you do look at his face, and assuming they're not doctored, it does look like his face is drooping which is a tell-tale sign of a stroke.

BREAKING: Conservatives upset after a school shooting.

Flags at half mast for a grifting, hate-speaking misogynist, bigot but when John McCain dies, a literal war hero, nada from Trump.

There is a thread on Conservative Reddit (don't ask how I ended up there) where they are keeping a list of all the people who have lost their jobs for making a comment about Kirk's death. Everyone seems to be revelling in these people losing their jobs. However, my favourite comment was,

"People seem to think that freedom of speech, means, freedom from consequence"

It's like irony has smacked them so hard that they no longer feel it.

You'd have to have rocks in your head to post anything with your own name. Funny how parents and principals don't want a teacher who bays for blood or the Carolina Panthers don't want their media guy expressing such ideas.

The issue also is this 'freedom of consequences' has become so overblown that people in workplaces will kick up a stink for anything they disagree with. In places with weak labour laws or provisions, HR can make an easy decision just to remove someone and take care of it. Sure, sack those who totally cross the line but not those who express something of a tame, generic, obvious and even mainstream opinion. In the end people should just keep quiet about such cases as they're very messy and can led to termination.

Was chatting with friends last night and we get there was a platform pushing Kirk forward but why couldn't those who disagree with him just call him a dickhead, politely suggest people don't go to his events and ignore him? I guess without absolute protest those attended may not be swayed. To think the number of young people who attended, do thy really have such convictions or was it just jumping on a band wagon?

The number of high profile athletes coming out is staggering. It just goes to show the Hollywood bubble that gets presented is a minority and there are a range of views out there about how the country should be.

I feel like a lot of "celebrities" are commenting on this as they now appreciate their own vulnerability.. Anyone of them could suffer the same fate as old mate, shot for picking the wrong side.

Good point. Regardless of their political orientation, anyone in the public eye that has or is being vocal about political issues could well be a target for the nutjobs.

This shooting might be the cat out of the bag......

True and the sad issue is you've got whackos saying if you don't announce you on our side you must be against us. I like Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington. The men get asked these things and they have so much poise not to get into it and that the journalist should never try it again.

You know what, great call, both of them EXACTLY , seem to have done interviews Ive seen recently (we must have the same algorythm ghost ... ohhh spooky) were they avoided the whole left/right, black/white argument all together... Especially Freeman... Someone asked him if he was celebrating Black History Month and he flat out said "No, when is White Jewish month?" or something like that.....

We're not going to find these gents on a panel and that's the issue. The sound voices are too smart for news channels. I'm sure there are some more noble organisations out there that aim to improve the situation. At the same time many social issues are a business model. Always have been I guess.
