Hahaha.. Blame with the APL etc lays in the idea that you removed the problem only for the problem to be even greater under your watch.... yet still blame the previous bc its convenient to hide the very clear failures you told us tour sorted!
It's not under my watch, I never worked for the FFA or the APL. I also never told you it was sorted. I'll repeat for you, the administration of the sport (football) has been crap in the country since I have been following the game for 50 years, I did not stop following the game during the NSL period. I watched NSL games, I watched for players, I just didn't have a team.
Comprehendo????

Got it, but it doesnt change the fact that the follow on from that is that we continue to hear the alegaue was 'improvement and evolution' etc etc that the it was created to sort those failings out no? Except whst came is far more dire than any prefecessor.... dont get me wrong for i do agree the NSL (nothing to do with the clubs) was a shithole administration its subsequent disbanding however should never have led to a greatest rorting of football this country has seen! Or am i still wrong?

As a football fan I feel for you & what happened to your club, I was not there nor was I privvy to the decision making, but yes IMO a travesty for a club with such a rich history has not been allowed in the A-League.

This is a suits error & has I said they continue to fuck up.

However, to come on here & continue to bag out the A-League & the clubs to similar football fans, who also had nothing to do with the decision does not endear you to them.

Repsected and appreciated.

Fair point.... I may mock/banter on occasion (we all guilty of it) but I actually dont tell ppl who to follow infact in most cases i actually do respect it, it really is irrelevent to me and power to them who they choose!

The league itself as the APL is open season though, from the point it remains a key reason for exclusion, and call it vested interests which i can somewhat understand, but i dont have to agree with, and those that pretend it isnt or play ignorant to it, often hypocritically, should be open to criticism!

If I the respond in kind to some of those alegue supporters continuing the same bullshit mudslinging that got us here, thats a different story, and if that makes me unendearing so be it, im ok with that!

hey, when you say fail the last 50yrs it reads the past and we agree nothing has changed.
Settled.
Sutho, obviously the past helps shape the/a future trouble is we're still in it :)
Current regime and the one prior have kept the game under their lock and key, yep keep on never having it and this is fresh recent right now.
Some clubs (notably SMH) - its the whole whammy - let alone just to start with a level 2 throw in a 3.
Championship is a start fingers crossed without the APL and forges onwards for the below, maybe then we might help producing more than just rounded solid professionals in the future but thats a dream at this point in time.
My point about the past was meant to come across like this : “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana, The Life of Reason, 1905.

Very valid point..... but just as valid was that....

Your end game I think has very unrealistc start dates. There isn't enough money, nor can I see there being enough in your time frame, for 28 professional teams travelling the whole nation in a full home/away schedule. A more realistic step would be to have a regional based second tier, perhaps a north south split in two conferences. I think the first step though is to establish a 14 team sustainable A League.

Haven’t they spent 20 years trying to build a sustainable A League and people are still dreaming.😲

All depends on how you define sustainable. Currently it's sustained by the owners.
As for a self-sustained A-League. That's probably not really possible under the current circumstances. Maybe if there was greater focus on selling players overseas, then maybe they could get to a more self-sustainable position. Each club would probably need to be averaging $5m+ in transfer fees each year though. Big ask when the development pathways lag behind other parts of the world.

Maybe the Aleague should expand into 8 state based conference leagues with 14-16 local clubs in each? That way they can have full pro-rel with the NPL below them? It would save a tonne of money on flights.

I like your proposal. However, I think that the chance of having 14 teams in the A League may be a bridge too far in 2027-2028. Therefore I would run with however many teams are in it at that juncture, and promote the winners of the B League until there are 16 teams in the AL. Once that is achieved, make the promotion two up and two down.

I don't necessarily think that the BL needs to be fully professional initially.
