This stadium is just another example of the state government throwing lots of money to RL. The best stadium, in terms of future utilisation, to build/upgrade in Qld currently would be to turn Perry Park into a 10-15,000 seat stadium.
Why does Sunshine Coast need a stadium of the reported size? It’s not needed for the local RL team. Realistically, the only occasions likely to happen where a large crowd may attend would be the odd Broncos or other NRL team preseason game, or if an NRL team decides to hold a one-off fixture at SC.I thought this too btu they are basically in the process of appointing contractors i believe.
And realistically, the Sunshine Coast needs a stadium badly.
