Thats my question mate.... Maybe you don't hate it but most other Sydneysiders on here declare this undying hatred of AFL like it some sort of boogeyman.. its actually pretty funny....

I totally would understand if none of you like it or watch it or prefer Rugby, no issue, but the hate (from some) is hilarious...

Na, Cricket players wear white. Nothing more Aussie than Cricket at the G on boxing day. Best cricket ground in the world, don't care what the POMS say.

Sorry Ive gotta disagree there... To me, there is nothing more Aussie than watching South Melbourne Hellas play Sydney Olympic at Lakeside... I dont care what the NCIP used to say :).... hahahahah

See this is the problem when you sport, competition & administration are called the same thing AFL.

It's not the sport we dislike, its the treatment of the AFL admin & media treats football. As a football fan (yes I know you hate FA & A-League)) but you must also dislike the AFL & the media of it's treatment of football
 
This rain needs to fk right off! and go back to Victoria. Depressing enough coming on here let alone the weather. Might have to have a mix.

It's because the cunts run interference on football whenever they can whereas the NRL, generally, is happy to coexist with football.

How can you not hate them would be my question to you Mexicans.

I used to go to bondi beach quite regularly a few years ago, used to always see buddy Franklin Guernsey's, so I'd say there is definitely an interest in afl in Sydney, it's been proven that it's growing, just obviously won't be dominating the nrl, not anytime soon atleast.

Here in Melbourne though, i legit couldn't tell you a single player's name from the storm, apart from like billy slater and sonny Bill Williams. If you held a photo up of them to my face, I'd have no idea who they are.

If i went to Chadstone shopping centre and asked 1,000 people there to name me a single Melbourne storm player, i doubt a single person would know, but if i asked them to name me a South Melbourne player, i reckon they'd be a few there who would atleast mention big ange.
 
Imo nrl in Sydney and afl in Melbourne aren’t equivalent. Afl is a much more important cultural component of life in Melbourne than nrl is in Sydney. In Sydney if you don’t follow or care about nrl, you can easily forget it exists. In Melbourne you cannot ignore the presence of afl, particularly if you are a bloke, it’s an ever present. It is the mainstream male culture of the city as I’ve said before

Is the criteria receiving the biggest ever defeat by an NPL club in the history of the game?

In 20 years of football in this country clubs from NZ have done what - a minor premiership and couldnt even make the final after basically having the league handed to them.

The AFL is an organisation, not a sport, same with the NRL.
