Because it kinda feels like winning the cup is just pointless then. Why? It's all based off league standings - same way the promotions/relegations are handled lower down the pyramid.

Can't wait mate...Got some answers so far digging for more
Guess your gonna have to sit out this year .. No Aus Cup, No Dockerty Cup, No Championship and a likely first week knockout from NPL finals... Poor Oakleigh.... I guess all the goons can sit in Eaton mall nursing the 8 hour frappe reminiscing on earlier in the season when their was a tiny possibility of South getting relegated.....Is it just whoever finishes 1st at the end of the season who gets into that league? Or is it also who ends up winning the grand final?
Hahahaha that reminds me of Collingwood Warriors... Guess they couldnt sell enough "shares" to the local community then?Wests Tigers owners buy equity stake in APIA Leichhardt FC
But the group’s involvement in soccer is stepping up significantly, with a co-branded team to be known as Wests APIA FC to enter the new Australian Championship competition, which is being launched by Football Australia in October.

The Holman Barnes Group is branching beyond rugby league, forming a joint venture with the famous ex-NSL club ahead of their return to national competition later this year.www.theage.com.au

Interesting, always skeptical of this kind of thing. Who cares if wests want to invest in the club, but not sure about the rebrand of a historical clubWests Tigers owners buy equity stake in APIA Leichhardt FC

Heard from the main man himself, aki, that we didn't want to be in this competition, even if we finished first or if the other few clubs don't accept it, we won't be either, unless things have changed since then.Guess your gonna have to sit out this year .. I call bullshit! Easy to make a statement like that when the bergers (and to lesser extent thunder) have blown the other aspirants out of the water this season for that spot!Heard from the main man himself, aki, that we didn't want to be in this competition, even if we finished first or if the other few clubs don't accept it, we won't be either, unless things have changed since then.
Ive got footage of the "interview"Heard from the main man himself, aki, that we didn't want to be in this competition, even if we finished first or if the other few clubs don't accept it, we won't be either, unless things have changed since then.
Now we've heard it all...next thing you're going to tell us you're going to have a capacity crowd when your stadium officially opens!!Heard from the main man himself, aki, that we didn't want to be in this competition, even if we finished first or if the other few clubs don't accept it, we won't be either, unless things have changed since then.
Sadly they probably will, Frantically rushing to open for the last round of the season against South, shouldn't have a problem reaching 1000 capacity against us .... Not many home fans of course so not sure what they are going to with it for the next year? Now we've heard it all...next thing you're going to tell us you're going to have a capacity crowd when your stadium officially opens!!
I'm just telling you my point of view. Aki was asked right in front of me if we we're going to be applying for that new league, he said no we don't think it'll be a success so we're not going to waste our time and money on it.I call bullshit!
