2026 Australia Cup final rounds thread

I think APIA will consider themselves unlucky tonight, either team could have won on the day. APIA played some good stuff in tight spaces at times, just lacked the final product in the end. As LFC said you could tell a few APIA players looked like they were carrying knocks etc, namely Sean Symons. Was a good night in the end. Good to see a decent enough contingent of Melb fans mid week interstate v an npl club. You could see Melbourne came to win, they weren’t just there for a kickabout

I told you so as Johnny said :)
Tired - resource's stretched, game management thinking ahead (huge SU League game Sunday)........
IMO they should have played us off the park being its their only focus pre season far far fresher.
Kudos to our boys they did their best - once again just couldn't take those chances that were begging for a final finish.
I won't bring in the ref calls, what goes around comes around no point bitching away.
Impressed on the turn out - lacked the vibe when we play a local especially SU but better than expected.

So, you posted that the offside was fair and now you are saying it is bullshit, make up your confused mind.
Game hasn't been played yet old fella, just assuming that would be the ONLY way the refs could help the struggling Aleague boys... did you take your meds this morning?

I don’t begrudge victory the win, but the result could have easily gone the other way on another night. Felt like the ball just wasn’t falling for APIA within shooting range. Gotta give some credit to Melbourne, obviously weren’t easy to break down.

Crowd was comparable to the APIA v Sydney united game in the end, but obviously that was more of a mix of fans from both clubs, this was pretty much all APIA support on this occasion so a bit of a different dynamic in the stands.

As a Hellas fan, we are proud to see big Harry do well. Great bloke and a great player. If MacArthur Bulls had not taken him, we would have had a fighting chance to qualify for the 2024 Australia Cup grand final.
He's looked good for MV. He's going to be a good addition

Nduka appears largely useless

They also have ACL to focus on and many players not playing.

Considering Mata, Nish (who left yesterday) or Generau are not there and they've only played a couple of games, they did ok in teh middle.

What needs to be upgraded at the palace? it's fine the way it is.

Not everyone is a modern-day footballing wanker watching a game through a glass wall eating a lobster roll like yourself.
Each to their own, but personally I think it has character, gives the club personality. It’s the reason why people prefer their childhood family home over a brand new modern apartment. Recent upgrades were all that was needed imo. The place feels like the stadium version of a wogs house but with a giant soccer ball at the entrance instead of a lion. Have said before, can’t think of another club where the clubs identity and match day experience is as tied to the venue itself as Marconi. Only critique I would make is why did the original designers not make the roof go the whole length of the grandstand ffs.

Big H, spends more time down at Lakeside than some other ex South players from recent years... Wish nothing but the best for the big lad, he is a superstar and Im glad he is forging a career at Aleague level.

Leichardt Oval not available then due to redevelopment ?
It might be. The final event scheduled is on the 19th of September. What are the semi dates? Sydney fc have played there in the past, I doubt they’d open up Sydney football stadium for the cup, although it is a semi v Melbourne. They’ve also played at Kogarah in the past
