2026 Australia Cup final rounds thread

Reporting direct from the venue with a bigger pitch than San Siro!
hey don't mock our minute Palace haha
Still luv the little place - obviously we need bigga but its history is massive who have ventured there for countless years.....
I'll be very sad IF/When the time comes we move to Leichardt permanently in the future (???) or where ever else.

No mocking for me, I like lambert park. Just the humorous claim to fame from former previous president

considering I was in Melb late last week - cold yep been quite chilly up here as well that tbh normal winter.
Getting rugged up for tonight but can't wait and who cares eh.
Cold? It was 21 degrees in Sydney yesterday ..in winter. People need to get real

since 2015

APIA 10 Wins
4 Draws
United 11 Wins

flip of the coin, but APIA are favorites, which suits us.
we have been THE NSW Clubs for sometime imo.......
We maybe favs - due to your drop in league form that your recovering where we picked ours up the last month but drew last week against Saints of all clubs ha.
I can't pick the outcome as well and besides as your record shows - we're neck and neck every single game for ages be it any game.

hey nothing like a passionate long time legend Prez, every club would luv one like him :)
I know, a character, but a genuine club man and an icon of Sydney and Australian soccer. It’s people like him who have kept the fire burning at traditional clubs during the dark times

correct - he kept the faith and one of the "glues" for all our clubs.
Put aside rivalries he bleed for our existence and call to arms many a time.
Sure he had our agenda first and foremost but we lack leaders like him in the game today.

At Leichardt games you'd see him walking around the ground compared to some Prez's who just sit and stay in the corp box.
You could always say gday as he walked by (always in a hurry) but he noticed you.
I admired that and miss him greatly.

You used to be able to catch him for a chat at his business in the Inner west, dolcissimo it was a deli/restaurant. I think it’s closed now

yep, was a great spot, Haberfield - sadly closed now.
Deli was decent, restaurant part was average imo. In true raciti fashion you could often find him on the comments arguing with customers about how good the food was and how it was in fact of the finest quality haha what a man.

How about when he used to call into radio and berate the hosts about their anti ethnic anti soccer bias

"poaching" isnt the word I would use, especially since I am heavily involved in this "process" lol

It boils down to the close relationship AU collectively has with all the NPLSA clubs and the FSA programs. (which is very different to almost every other a league club, except brisbane these days)

I have never denied the role of SA NPL clubs play in youth development and im sure you're fully aware of my own involvement within the SA NPL (im also one of those rare people who enjoys the a league as much as the npl and it has nothing do with my employment) so im more than qualified to talk about this topic.

Like I have alluded to, development locally is 100% solely done by the SA NPL clubs, please bear in mind that players are heavily monitored from the ages of 12 and upwards though. The best players are either going to into the FSA/AU squads by the time there 14.
