The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

Nsw qualification spot looking likely to be either Rockdale or Sutherland. Both would be fitting candidates imo. As I said in the npl thread as much as it was a credit to spirit for qualify on merit last time, will be good to see a more established club with better facilities and more support make it this time, both Rockdale and Sutherland fit that bill. The two clubs play each other in a few weeks time which could go a long way to deciding who takes the spot. Also as mentioned on the npl thread, Sutherland a rare example of a club in this country pre dating the post ww2 migration boom, Rockdale obviously affiliated with the Macedonian community
I'm quietly confident this years competition will be bigger and better for the reasons you've touched on. Sydney United being in a much better place, Rockdale/Sutherland, Adelaide City, Queensland Lions all possible inclusions in place of Spirit, MetroStars, and Moreton City. I can see some really well supported games and some rivalries either starting or re-igniting after a couple of decades :)

Can Football Australia just announce something already? I'm way to excited for it to wait any longer :D

If that was Lotto, I would wear to Lygon Street tonight.... lol
Love that 90s style fit of tracksuit. Wish I still had the collection my father/grand father used to have in their possession.

If Marconi did a re release of these tracksuits from the early 90s would buy one in a heartbeat

5 to 8 weeks remaining depending on the federation. The final day of the regular season:

ACT - 22/08
NNSW - 16/08
NSW - 30/08
QLD - 14/08
SA - 15/08
TAS - 08/08
VIC - 29/08
WA - 22/08

Looks like a two horse race in both VIC and NSW. Oakleigh and Hume at least three wins clear of Heidelberg, and Rockdale and Sutherland +7 points ahead of next best NWS Spirit in 9th spot.

Very tight between the top 3 in SA, just two points between MetroStars, Adelaide City and West Torrens Birkalla. Aus Cup qualifier Beograd still in with a chance. Likely down to two in QLD, Peninsula Power and Lions with breathing space there, both also qualified for the Aus Cup.

The top 4 in WA all in contention and too close to call, should be a cracking finish there. A lot would have to go wrong for Broadmeadow to miss out from here in NNSW.

ACT is in a weird place with a bunch of catch-up matches meaning you can't read too much into things there, maybe the top 6 all have a chance! Only four rounds remaining in TAS. Likewise, they have a few catch-ups meaning even Launceston City in 4th are a sniff. It's South Hobart's to lose right now, but Devonport still a match in hand.

Has it been confirmed that Sydney Olympic will be playing out of kogarah again this season?

It will be either Canberra Croatia or Monaro Panthers as they are the most consistent clubs this season. Their matchup on the 15th will very likely determine the premiership

Why have they given special mention to the Championship transfer window when it's already in the normal transfer window? What's different about it that it needs highlighting?

Would've liked the Championship kicking off a week before A-League but no biggy. More important would be a change in format away from playing the same three teams twice!
