Many Moroccan players played for multiple aged teams of France, Belgium and The Netherlands and the used Morocco as a fall back. You can get their strong connection to it but the guys would come across as very French or Dutch with their language and, schooling and football education.

Something a lot of countries have is the people who didn't leave have resentment to those who went elsewhere. Unfortunately, I did wonder what the general sentiment towards the USMNT and this WC would be like in a hypothetical universe where Harris was President. People (before a ball was kicked) claiming this WC would be the 1936 Berlin Olympics 2.0, almost wanting it to be the case just to satisfy their ego and confirm they're definitely right and not at all maybe just a little bit unhinged and in need of a good long walk outside?

I was death-riding Qatar 2022 from the announcement of their bid in 2010 to when it kicked off, but ended up enjoying it the most out of any WC I've watched, as somebody just too young to remember Mexico '86. To date this WC has had some all-time classic matches, popular upsets and the travelling fans have loved the hospitality of the Americans wherever they've gone. This f**kery by DJT and Infantino has definitely been a low-point, but it's irrelevant now as the USA has been knocked out. And I'll go on the record as saying I always despised them for their arrogance and entitlement, so happy to see them get a reality check this morning regardless of who resides in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave...
