A-League transfer news/rumours

Liam Gillion is moving to Western Sydney Wanderers from Auckland FC and will be under contract at the side for the next two seasons through the end of A-League Men season 2027-28.

Roderick Miranda is leaving Melbourne Victory at season's end upon falling out of contract after making 120 league appearances for the side across five years of service time in addition to appearing in back-to-back A-League Men grand finals and winning the Hahn Australia Cup.

Unless if he doesn’t a euro passport it’s a weird move, but all the best to him.
european clubs are looking at hundreds of candidates in hundreds of leagues. The first thing i think most would do is put cuts on their data to make a long list

FIrst cut would be age, if he is born before jan 1 2003, he is told old to look at as a talented prospect. That is why i count youth as being u23 only

He can still make it to a decent european league, but only if he is dominating like crazy, think aaron mooy, scott chipperfield or nisbit getting a goal contribution every game

from round 1 of the next a league season, any player born before jan 1 2004 is not young. Is it fair? No. But it's the market

Eli Adams apparently linked to a move to Japan, you think he’s would get a move to Europe given he’s talent.
The Euro choice seemed to be led by RB Salzburg and a probable loan move to its feeder FC Liefering. Other top tier offers much the same. There were a couple of lower tier German offers where game time would be more likely.

While at Gamba Osaka he is likely to be a sub option or rotational starter.

So he virtually has a choice between
  • Being lost in a top tier Euro League
  • Dropping down to a lower Euro League for less money but more game time - but also being tagged as a lower league player
  • Choosing the middle path - decent money - more game time than a top tier Euro League but more money and less game time from a second tier Euro League
Given that a career can end in an instant probably a sensible choice.
