FIFA 2026 WC - general

Massive queues to get into places to have a beer. That's where Germany has the edge. Half litre bottles at kiosk for 2 euros and you can drink wherever.
 
So I gather that they are splitting teams on equal points, by looking at their head to head record before going to goal difference.

I think this was in place at the last WC, but it was never required.

I’m not a fan, but I can be dissuaded.

I don't think was in place for 2022 - but has been in place for Asian Cups since 2007.

It seems more likely that Japan will play Brazil and Netherlands Morocco.

Japan and Netherlands to advance.
 
Makes you wonder what path the French might seek out after Germany inevitably confirmed at top of grid.

I think FRA would rather face GER than a possible meeting with CIV. Last competitive game the Frech beat Germany 2-0, but they lost a recent friendly against the Ivorians.

That's what I thought. It's going to get hard eventually.

The potential Argentina Spain clash is very interesting too.

The USA look likely to face Belgium if they advance and then probably Croatia, Colombia or Portugal.

If Spain tops group H ahead of Uruguay, and Argentina tops group J, they'll be on separate sides of the draw and couldn't mdet until the final, which is a possibility. I think France is outright favourite but they've been known to stutter before. I'd love to see a new name on the Jules Rimet, or at least someone who hasn't won it for 60 years ...

It was always inevitable that Santo Cilauro and Ed Kavalee were eventually going to run out of material on Cup Fever! given how the World Cup results have panned out across the last couple of days but hopefully the content improves come the round of 32.

Thread 'The annual NicCarBel TOURNAMENT PERMUTATIONS POST'

I'm gonna pop in threads as needed because more eyeballs - but it's time to begin what is (probably) my annual PERMUTATIONS POST

Given the large amount of third placed teams that can make it - I will be doing this the old way (at first) in only seeking out who needs to do what to finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their group. It won't be until the final matchdays begin looking at which 3rd places can make it altogether.

I will be adding each group slowly as I sit down and look at groups, etc etc

Group A
  • Mexico is confirmed top of the group
  • South Korea will seal...
