Agree that the thread needs to be kept on topic but unfortunately contraction seems a more likely outcome given the state of the league.
 
I'm going to be controversial and rude to y'all on behalf of the Apl and call you all terms that the Apl find absolutely repulsive.
Everyone is an 'expansion, pro rel, introduce transfer fees, raise or abolish the salary cap & unite old soccer with new football!!
There, you want more??..

Well if that's the case and it was why we would bother looking at bringing back the clubs that made it the shit show in the first place?.

The game has moved on from clubs based on a monocultural ethnic identity.

All this talk of promotion & relegation is complete and utter fanciful nonsense.

Australia doesn't have the population and the sheer geographical size of the country makes it impossible to work.

The other issue is money, who's going to fund it and where is going to come from? The money tree mouth-breathers in here thinks there is?

Simple fact is Australians don't support second or third tier competitions.

I've said it many times before the only sport where it would've worked here was Aussie Rules pre-1987.

Football is fast becoming as irrelevant as rugby union in this country and some fools in here want to drag the game kicking and screaming back to the bad old days.

What does clubs based on monocultural ethnic identity bring the game in this country two parts of sweet fuck all.

It's not the 1980's anymore, the game has moved on from those clubs, time you moved into the 21st century.

James Johnson in his wisdom believed there can be pro/rel, in an Aleague 1 & Aleague 2 format simular to how Japan went about it.
FA/Apl are half glass empty organizations, always have been. This is why there are only 12 teams..Mariners got those new owners yet..lol

You claim I have no idea but don't state why.

I stand by my view supporters of old NSL clubs don't want what's best for football in this country as they want to drag the game back to the bad old days.

Apl & FA don't love Australian Football. No progress to boast about. Start with14 teams, play No Less than 30 rounds, raise salary cap, introduce transfer fees, promote Canberra, South Melbourne and South Island. Then we can agree on something.
