The result sees the Junior Matildas finish second in the group on four points with one win, one draw and one loss, meaning that we'll face Vietnam who finished second in group A in the quarterfinals which get underway on Monday, May 11th.

I’m sure having a superstar defender with A-League experience is better than having fringe A-League or even NPL players on. Gotta play the best 11 against the best team and Japan is the best team.

The Young Matildas have named a 25-player squad for their upcoming domestic training camp in mid to late May which includes a two-match series against New Zealand on Wednesday, May 20th and Saturday, May 23rd, with both games being played at the AIS in Canberra. Fifteen players are retained from the playing list for our under-20 Women's Asian Cup campaign including the likes of Skye Halmarick, Ilona Melegh and Talia Younis, however Shelby McMahon, Danella Butrus and Alexia Apostolakis will be unavailable as they'll be with Melbourne City playing in the AFC Women's Champions League centralised finals series in South Korea.
