Sign Up Now!Huge for Heidelberg's current and potential sponsors to get coverage in Asia. And their players!Jets locked in for ACL Elite. Confirmed on commentary that it’ll be Heidelberg taking the ACL2 spot as long as they can get the necessary AFC licenses.
how much would 3 games cost?I don't see why they won't be given a license based on a quick search of the license requirements but they will have to 100% move their games to AAMI Park.
It would be like 30k per game minimum to just open the gateshow much would 3 games cost?
participation prizes are actually pretty decent for acl 2 these days right? Wins give a good bonus
doesn't sound outrageous to be honestIt would be like 30k per game minimum to just open the gates
The only issue imo not knowing the financials is the squad itself.doesn't sound outrageous to be honest
I thought AAMI was more like 100k per match? It would be like 30k per game minimum to just open the gates
I’ve heard most away trips to Asia can cost the club up to $100K (Japan/Korea/China obviously more expensive than SE Asia), so how can Bergers realistically afford that? The only issue imo not knowing the financials is the squad itself.
If they are still part-time, they will have find 26 full time players because the away trips - usually 10-12 hours, minimum (ACL rule) of having 1 full day for presser and training session at the ground, matchday at 5-9pm and then the trip home the day after. That's 4-5 days missing from work for those players.
Could be. I was basing it on the absolute minimum based on other 'major' stadiums around AustraliaI thought AAMI was more like 100k per match?
you would imagine soDo we get another spot?
Finishing as the next-best A-League team? Actually, given the “extremely unlikely” part I’d say it’s due to stadium or facility requirements."However, it’s extremely unlikely Heidelberg will meet the necessary criteria to compete in Asian competition."
Ouch, that's very disappointing. I wonder what parts they can't meet.
Wouldn't they just play at AAMI? Maybe they don't want to pay to play there? Surely some sponsors would jump at the chance to cover some expenses, possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity for the club.Finishing as the next-best A-League team?
