I'm at the 28 min mark of the Matt Windley Podcast.
Finished the ironing early, LFC! I haven't finished this podcast though.
*Being a journo, Matt asked Grazor, the host, a good question. Then Grazor expounded with quite a detailed, ideal paradigm for Aus football. Very profound it was too, Grazor!
* One frustration I had with the interview was that Matt stated something would never happen in Aus, hence, there was no point pursuing it. I wish Grazor had jumped on this response and asked Matt to shed light on why it could not happen?
I think it was something related to promotion /releg - not likely to happen in some type of manifestation that was being discussed.
In political activism, the union movement would never tolerate an employer saying this.
For argument's sake, if the Football Players Assoc (PFA), and there was a hypothetical Australian Football Fans Association, who both boycotted playing and spectating at all AL games, it would force the AL owners, or, Football Aus to change course - quickly.
It gets back to the American G and G Podcast guest saying that FFA losing control of the AL to the clubs, means the pre-existing AL clubs are only interested in making money for themselves, not making decisions for the general benefit of the entire football scenario in Aus.
There was an excellent point made in the podcast, but can't remember what it was? I will go back and finish it. I'm enjoying this Matt Windley Podcast immensely.
I have learned a lot about governance in Aus football from G and G podcasts!
