I get what you’re saying but that could be applied to any word, including “wanker” (the closest English equivalent). Swearing in general is pretty normalised here. Even the word “cunt” (regarded as the most offensive swear word, not counting slurs) can have positive connotations these days in Australia.

I did see that he went to a Swans game and met the Rabbitohs team. Surely Sydney FC is his next visit. Would truly suck if a literal former professional footballer visiting sports teams in Sydney didn’t come to a football club.

It really is weird that this stuff is "just another day" in AFL and their fans don't give a crap about it. But in soccer it's a sin haha.

A league fans want to hate each other to get some authenticity into the league

But we all like each other too much haha

Need one club to be repped by reddit and the other by g&g to get some genuine rivalry

I mean it’s a different culture to be fair. Still I feel like a Collingwood coach or player going to Essendon would be poorly received. Actually, anyone going to Collingwood would be poorly received.

AFL it doesn't happen as often. I'm a Carlton fan we only got Thomas, Scotland and malthouse in the last twenty years. Malthouse was controversial at the time as well.

I think a few transfers should happen because it does add to the rivalry.

But my opinion is it's so over done in the a league to the point where casual fans can't keep up. If the players don't care which team they are playing for fans won't either.

I think in general if a player or coach moves to a rival side and ends up doing better there it would be poorly received by the fan base though regardless of the sport.
 
As usual, have had to catch up with this round of AL games on replay. Not sure which night City play SFC? Should be able to watch the entire game on replay.

M Vic are finally performing like their squad indicates they should.

I prefer liking fellow football fans - AL, WL and NPL!

We have far too many Eurosnobs in Aus.

In the early years of the AL, on TWG there was real animosity between WSW, SFC and MV fans. If any of these 3 AL clubs played ACL games, the fans from the other 2 clubs supported the Asian opponents!

Correct,

As dirty as I felt, I went for Al-Hilal when WSW played them in that ACL final.
