Breaking Barriers - web series 📺

Already did on a specific discord....

But to be fair - some clubs HAVE to stick with 'Soccer Club' for reasons. Not sure if that's the case here though.
The reason is that the sport is called Soccer in this country long before any of the new dawn stopped watching AFL and NRL and it will again long after the return to their boganball pastimes.

Come on Berwick City! This is great for football in Australia, as is the Sutherland Sharks plan. This is what other clubs need to be doing and raises the standards across football. Get on board football fans!
The Sutho Sharks are the local club of the area I grew up in (my side of the family still live there) before I moved interstate.

What’s the reasoning with the must of a soccer club? Melbourne culture with the AFL?

Ultimately who cares lol

I think tbh online echo chamber is playing to effect here.
No, he has a point there.

The example I was specifically referring to is a local example for me: Yoogali.

There’s the originally formed Yoogali SC (that still exists today as Yoogali SC, and the club that formed at their old social club, Yoogali FC, during the early 2000’s.

So in their case, they cannot rename to FC at all

I assume most people he is referring to is the NPCs saying soccer not football. It can be called whoever who cares. Italians should get the whip for the Calcio term!

Oh it was tame - just things like: ‘hmm Soccer Club? I guess that’s first point of agenda.’

Which I mean, tomayto-tomahto for some people. I like to call it football too, but I know my audience and will change for understanding as I need to

I remember when i was first getting into football being baffled over people getting upset over the word soccer

My response back then was "you come across as a star trek fan upset about outsiders mispronouncing something in klingon"

Soccer - one hundred and something year old abbreviation for association football.
Football - one hundred and something year old shortened nomenclature for association football.

Any one getting upset over either word is a wanker. Period.
People getting upset over the use of the word “football”: Americans, AFL fans, and to a lesser extent NRL fans
People getting upset over the use of the word “soccer”: The rest of the world……….
