crikey....

well its good for international cricket

powerhouses finding group stages as hard in t20 as they do in the football

Feel the power of sadza and muriwo!

Travball not saving you now. Where was the prodigal son Green?

So gutted I couldn't watch it live.

In case you read this DC, wanna know why the next Bellevive game with the Blues is a day/niter.

I've been so busy lately, I haven't posted on here at all.

Live - watched 4 games.

Women:
Tas v WA One Day - 2 games.

Tas v ACT - 2 games.

Tas lost all 4 games, despite having the express bowler, Calie Wison, who is shortish and skids the ball off the pitch. Maybe she just doesn't get enough deviation off the pitch, or swing it in the air?

Trenaman ( Tas) 2 tons, then was injured, and Darke (WA) batted superbly. One of the ACT openers was excellent too.

Have been at a mate's place watching the T20 World Cup. It is nice not to have the blaring music of Big Bash live, and, to actually have a national representative team as opposed to a franchise.

*Netherlands v Pakistan

Netherlands better than I thought they would be.

*Aus v Ireland

Aus too good.

*Aus v Zimbabwe

Aus disappointed, but are probably out of form, and the useless selectors have picked an out of form Maxwell at age 37 - like they have persisted with a few Test players too long.

Credit to Zim though. They fielded superbly, catching some screamers!

A few observations:

* With Fox/Kayo the Aus T20 players get too much publicity - since some don't even have a state team!

* What a waste of a good leggy like Zampa not playing any Shield cricket. He needs to move from Byron Bay to a city and train with a state team.

* Tim David - needs a state.

* Glen Maxwell - what is the obsession of the current selectors with selecting old men out of form?

* Stoinis - has played well.

* Renshaw - is he finally showing the level of performance expected after his auspicious Test debuts at age 21?

* Interesting to see an Aus attack devoid of Starc, Paddy and Josh H? None of the current T20 bowlers can bowl 140kph. Some good variation on show though.

Tas Shield game starts tomorrow - in hot Tassie weather for a few days.

Will attend all 4 days live, but later in the day tomorrow after the beach.

This is one of the good things about T20 International cricket. The minnows tend to be more competitive.
I wonder if t20 will become as competitive and international as football in a few decades

It is happening - fast!

The Indian diaspora has made cricket increasingly popular in the USA and Canada. This is according to Tas Cricket's CEO and Sec.

Now Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, Afghanistan, USA and Canada, are capable of beating anyone, particularly if the powerhouses have off days.

Need a t20 asian cup and asian champions league

Hobart Hurricanes are representing Aus in a club World Champ in Guyana.

Asian Champ League in cricket could work if Aus and Kiwis are included in Asia though?

Kiwis
Aus
India
Pakistan
Bangladesh
Afghanistan
Sri Lanka
Yep would be an absolutely epic club tournament
