Can Heather Hinz make the A-League All Stars even though she's American? Surely she can. It'll be either her or Teresa Morrissey who now that I think about it would get in my Matildas squad over Courtney Newbon.

I don't see why Heather Hinz can't make the A-League Women All Stars squad because it comprises the best players in the league regardless of nationality as voted by the fans, except if Teresa Morrissey gets into the playing list ahead of her.

Sofia Fante promoted to the Sydney FC extended squad for their A-League Women matchday 17 game against Brisbane Roar, with Kirsty Fenton serving a one-match suspension after receiving a red card last week, which Sydney FC opted not to appeal. Central Coast Mariners return from the bye and face Wellington Phoenix on the road for the first time without Annalise Rasmussen, who secured a transfer overseas during their week off.
