That's right. It's amazing how not being a dickhead can help you get along regardless of how you look. By all means, the positive aspects of other cultures are fine. The negative stuff is for the bin.

In saying that, when the world's two biggest populations have a high migration rate, along with cultures that are more foreign than the host country, no wonder the social fabric changes. This is even happening amongst closely related places such as Colombia/Venezuela, Mexico/ El Salvador, South Africa/ neighbouring countries.

Integration is certainly a two way street and efforts from both sides should reciprocate.

Probably means the fisheries policies will remain the same though. Reading through Reddit, people suggested that compromising on fisheries would help Norway’s bid. Norway should hold another referendum and polling shows most Norwegians agree even though a small majority say they would vote no.

I get there are these standards and for good reason but it also allows them to tiptoe around things and reframe it. I don't think their staff could do this so quickly verbally for example. Public broadcasters have really been pushing their luck.

It works both ways and both "sides" of politics benefit and suffer under the same rules. When you are accept the stock standard, outrage bait or narrowcasting that is offered as news and commentary by commercial media, anything tempered sound radical. The only reason we hear about this stuff is that state broadcasters are subject to standards and scrutiny commercial broadcasters simply aren't. Accountability means that when they screw up we all know about it. Some might perceive balance and accountability as tiptoeing but there's a cognitive dissonance. What they actually mean is, I think they are biased because they don't cater to my biases.

Commercial media is happy for that to happen and feed the outage against public broadcasters because their goal is commercial. Turn viewers away from publicly funded media towards commercial media.
