The UK is on the brink of Civil War

Nah.... Honestly the British might take to the streets protesting and venting frustration at mainstream politicians, but they don't have the appetite for anything close to a civil war. It's mostly a lot of hot air and their last actual civil war was nearly 400 years ago.

Northern Ireland, however, is a different story. They operate on a completely different historical wavelength, with a deeply ingrained memory of conflict and sectarian tension woven right into their cultural DNA.....

A civil war requires a fractured military, a collapse of government institutions, and a populace armed for revolution. The UK has none of those. Instead, what will happen is a period of intense, exhausting civil unrest loud, angry, and messy, but fundamentally contained within the existing political system.

Western nations have an incredible amount of built-in institutional armour. They can absorb massive amounts of anger, fire, and political chaos without the core machinery of the state ever breaking.

A day after he was convicted for the fatal 2025 stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a track meet, Karmelo Anthony has filed a notice of appeal in the closely watched murder trial.

On Tuesday, jurors rejected Anthony’s self-defense claim for murdering Metcalf during a confrontation at a high school track meet on April 2, 2025 in Frisco, Texas. After deliberating for roughly three hours, a Collin County jury reached a unanimous verdict, sentencing Anthony to 35 years in prison for first-degree murder.
