So what's the solution without going full Ivory Coast?

Simple fact is we don't need immigrants at all.

We need to be housing the population we already have here.

Foreign ownership is a sham and should be banned, non-citizens should be locked out of the market as well.

If you walk around the CBD's of our major cities you'd see people laying down on the footpaths of the streets as they are homeless, that should be a national scandal.

At present we have 190,000 nationwide waiting for public housing. House those first before throwing the gates open to the dregs from around the world.

You do know 200 thousand people leave Australia every year don't you? That and a fertility rate below replacement means we'd go backwards, population wise, under your scenario.

Which is fine if you can address how to pay for everything with a shrinking tax base. Over to you.

Exactly, they don't exist because of communism lol.

I'm not disagreeing.

No one here once mentioned Australia should be a communist country except for the resident loon.

Australia like every other Western country needs economic migration and not just a few higher educated or skilled migrants....

It needs economic migrants across rhe entire workforce, from cleaners, barista's and taxi drivers to surgeons, engineers and architects.

Even if you stopped it for 2 or 3 years, whilst house building caught up (which it wouldn't because it's impossible), you'd be finding massive holes in various parts of the workforce and this would not only have a detrimental effect on the general economy, it would cause massive issues to the public service sector.

You'd also have massive competition between employers for staff and this would lead to a spike in workers salaries and wages.

And if you think inflation is heading north right now then you're in for a huge shock during a workers shortage.

Shock politics like banning Immigration sounds great when coming from these protest parties like One Nation or Reform UK etc...

But the reality of Government is much different to what the snipers shooting from the sidelines portray.

Taxing wealthy people to the eyeballs who worked their arses off ring any bells?

Politics of envy will get you nowhere.

All the stuff you proposed including wealth distribution is what socialist countries do?

And I won't be cowed by far left bullies who hate democracy and want Australia to be a socialist country.

Taxing people to something approaching the OECD average is not radical or a communist policy.

We are the 5th lowest taxed country in the OECD. So unless you can work out how to pay for all the things you want, without taxing people, taxing billionaires and increasing royalties you should shut up.

We are $1 trillion in debt. (A $750 billion increase after the last 'debt and disaster' Labor government.)

The money has to come from somewhere. You understand we can't print it don't you?

It's weird that as such a patriotic australian you're a billionaire bootlicker. It's really odd. Do you honestly think Gina cares about you? She wants to bring in workers on $2 an hour. Do you think she, or Twiggy, or Rio or BHP have your best interests at heart?

Do you think multi-national tax dodging companies care about you?

What is wrong with you? Why don't you love Australia as much as you love tax dodging billionaires?

How does he propose his socialist utopia of public housing if he doesn’t want to get taxes off the rich?

The fool has forgotten completely about what happened during Covid. You are 100% correct.

The sudden stop to immigration put the Australian economy in a tailspin, that and profit gouging by corporations saw the biggest spike in inflation in decades.

Perhaps if the clown turned off Sky News for a minute and a did a little bit of reading he would understand these things.

Who's bootlicking billionaires?

Without them you wouldn't have a job unless you're a public servant.

Guess you're one of those who think small business owners need to pay more tax.

He doesn't have a clue. Print the cash I hope he doesn't say.

I'm predicting he'll say reduce government spending. (The irony being public housing is 'government spending'.)

Haven't had Foxtel for 5 years so play a new violin, peanut brain.

Who's bootlicking billionaires?

You.

You are.

Sounds to me like you believe in 'trickle down economics'. How fantastic. Those big ol' massive multi-national, tax dodging, royalty avoiding cunts are looking after little ol' sharkboy.

LMFAO

I’m not even defending socialism (I am not a socialist) but someone who demands public housing, and lives in a society that has free health care and essential services or fire/police etc ( all a form of socialism) and benefits from all these, and says this country is great (largely cause of this), also is arguing against them?

My head hurts.

What’s the saying
‘Socialism is when your house catches fire, you call the fire brigade and they come put it out. Capitalism is when you put in the insurance claim and they deny it’

I am not against or for either. Every system has good and bad points, but fuck me.

Tax cuts for the wealthy and trickle down economics will work initially but you'll also find eventually it leads to income inequality and fiscal deficits in the public service economy.

Better to try the 'middle out' or 'bottom up' alternative. I think that eonomic growth is better driven by strengthening the middle and working classes through investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

So you're saying the government should take more control over the economy instead of allowing for a free market?

But at the same time, everyone you disagree with is a socialist or a communist?
