Sorry Mono but the parents of the little girl who was murdered have publicly blamed the federal government. Can you argue with that
And as grieving parents I guess thats their right to, I don't agree with it. I would lay the blame on a piece of shit human being and his garbage father falling under the spell of an evil ideology myself...

Well the Albanese governent has to foot some of the blame for the rise of anti-Semitism that has arisen since October 7, 2023.

Yes there needs to be a two-state solution to the Palestine issue but Penny Wong and Albanese recognising a Palestinian state while a bunch of terrorists in Hamas still run Gaza was a daft move but I digress

They're too scared of rooting out anti-semitism for fear losing the Muslim vote in western Sydney, that was why Albanese and Labor sat on their hands after Bondi and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to call for a royal commission into Bondi that the victims' families had been calling for.

I'm not sure a Royal Commission into Anti-semitism will actually solve Anti-semitism.....

If people hate Jews either because of Israel and it's recent war in Gaza or the Palestine issues in general, or just because they hate Jews or have been conditioned to hate Jews (which I think some have) then a Royal Commission is unlikely to change their outlook on the matter....

A waste of time and resources which could be used elsewhere to educate the community to improve harmony. A finger pointing Royal Commission is more likely to stoke tensions....

100% agree with all of this.

$500 million down the drain.

A royal commission into Murdoch's media empire and his deliberate undermining of social cohesion in Australia would be far more fruitful.

Can we first at least get a list of these incidents?

Pretty much every publicised one does not fall under the category of local anti-semitism that would warrant this

Synagogue fire - Iran mossad told us
Fake Caravan bomb - organised crime scam
Graffiti - organised crime scam
Firebombing of car with them religious candles on top - vagrant who did others too
Orhodox Jewish kids and that car - 15 year old ice heads on a crime spree
Bondi - isis / foreign born terrorist

as I posted earlier, out of 2200 reports, there have been 13 that met the threshold.

No you can't argue with that.

Maybe they can preside over ever legal case across the nation.

Partisanship of different platforms

Didnt expect instagram to be the most centrist

I don't know any 'incidents' so I can't do a list....

Every society not just Australia has an element of people who hate either Jews or Muslims or Christians or Sikhs and Hindus and so on....

Sometimes it's simply religiophobia and sometimes there's a political element to it which might be regarded as a more sinister element of hatred. My father absolutely detested Jewish people but never once made a racist remark about other races or religions in his life. He was constantly snearing at the Jewish lobby or talking about other antisemitic conspiracy theories like the Jewish Rothschild banking family. And how they and their ilk control the global financial system, manipulate world events like wars and revolutions..

He was on the hard left, a Marxist and it was a politio-cultural thing....

Eitger way you're not going to beat that kind of with an inquiry and that's my point.

I agree/

But It's an absolute fantasy to think anti-semitism is more of an issue than racism or homophbia in general in Australia.

FFS, I saw a video yesterday of a cop questioning someone for anti semitism because they apparently were displaying watermelon. The cop looked genuinely embarrassed.

Jews should not be given shit for being jews, but it's being made out to be something it's not by some, with never any correcting of the record. All these fantasy events are taken as evidence down the track once they've been disproven but out of the news cycle.

Loik we're probably slightly missing each others point a bit here...

Antisemites are everywhere, Islamophobes are everywhere, homophobes are everywhere, transohobes are everywhere, soccerphobes and every other person who experiences an irrational fear, strong aversion, or intense hatred toward a specific thing, person, or concept are everywhere.....

I happily identify as an AFLaphobe...(sorry Melbournians)

A Royal Commission onto a specific cultural disdain of one particular concept wont remove people's thought processes on such matters....

May as well ask a pigeon to complete a Rubik's cube..

Given his love for calling everyone a communist I'd settle for just one example of what was said here that he thinks is in support of communism.

I am also guessing he doesn’t even understand what communism is.

For example, one could argue that the government with the most government overreach into private enterprise (akin to a communist government) in the western world is the USA…but hey, nothing like a catchphrase to throw out.

Some conservative types seem to call anything or anyone they disagree with a communist or Marxist, even when the person they're talking about obviously isn't one. Personally, I see at as similar to those on the left calling conservatives Nazis frivolously.

I mean calling people a communist or a Nazi today is nothing more than a prevalent, often generic, political insult used to label opponents, trivialise policy debates, and evoke historical fears....

The fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 and the formal dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991 was basically the end of communism.

Just like fall of Nazism occurred in May 1945 after the Allied invasion of Germany and the Soviet siege of Berlin.
