World news and politics.

The us government corruption with pardons etc ia laughable.

Trump making bank on crypto etc

Also the border guy taking 50k bags of cash…

But he look at those childcare centres
So the 50k bag deal was recorded but it was ruled as no credible evidence. I guess anyone could fake this.

I don't know how much crypto is regulated. Congress members have gotten rich across the board with their knowledge. There's needs to be mass reform on how they invest.

A childcare centre has claimed they were broken into and all the documentation on their operations was stolen. Yeah right!

They've already been investigating this and the meal service scams where up to 80 have been indicted. It'll take time and they have to keep going. It's just mental how support money is thrown at places first and stringent checks aren't done at any stage.

pretty big uprising in iran right now, hard to get detailed info. Seems like a big story, fingers crossed it works out in a positive way for the country

weirdly enough I met one of the relatives of the Shah in Melbourne

my wife went through her usual routine of apologising for America when meeting someone from another country. They interrupted her and said how much they loved america and saw them as the good guys in Iran. My wife wasn't convinced America's record was so rosy but was pretty thrilled to have a night off having to apologise lol

Yes and the mainstream media are nudging it down. German public broadcaster would be obsessed if it was an Iran-US/ Israel story but here there's some weird reason they don't want to 'promote' what's going on.

Just a footnote on BBC. In saying that info in and out is tricky. The leaders have said they'll listen to reasonable concerns and one should always be careful what they wish for but a collapse of this state would be good. New problems would ensue of course.

Iranians in no way support their government.

Interesting expose and that little twat who did the Somali bait and switch story.

Apparently he has paid Mexicans to stage his stories. Independent journalism hey

Feeling hopefully about Iran, but Id feel less optimistic if usa intervenes....lets see

Yeah because big media has never been selective with who talks to the camera or making a video with different timed cuts.

The Mexican one was a stunt. How nice of him to pay all those Somalis to pose for his story at the Learing Center.

You've got Minnesota locals of all walks of life who know what's up. Fraud needs to be clamped down on across the board.

As much as you'd hope Iran would become more open and attractive for the local population to thrive, it may remove the restrictions to leave and then an exodus occurs flooding certain places with even more people.

There could be a brain drain but also the worst would start marching towards Europe and the same issues rinse and repeat. You've got asylum accommodation full of Georgians, North Macedonians, Kosovans and North Africans refusing to leave and their government not giving documentation so they get put on this stupid bridging visa and they're just using Europe as playground to muck up.

america bombing countries and changing leaders for their own financial gain has worked wonders in the past....

at least they can steal the oil!

It's much more than that. You've got a despot responsible for 9 million people leaving the country ruling with an iron fist. An opposition leader winning the novel peace prize.

There are millions of good people today rejoicing at the opportunity for Venezuela.

The shift in regard to the oil policy would've been inevitable with so many players. The question is how The Gulf and Russia will react to this given their own oil markets.

It's interesting Maduro and his wife were captured and removed instead of simply killed. That's the current status at least. How did they know where they were? What will the Venezuelan government reaction be? I suspect they'll just install another at the head but collapse may occur too.

Would Maduro prefer it be like Ceaușescu? Apparently he'll be tried in the US and there'll be lawyers lining up to defend him but plenty of evidence against his crimes too.

“Trinidad and Tobago continues to maintain peaceful relations with the people of Venezuela,”

Notice how all the statements are towards the people and not the government?

I expect the entirety of South America will now position themselves militarily against an attack on their continent. Oh wait....

Carribean nations have been fed up with Venezuela for years and have looked to the United States for protection.

This is only about oil

The other day the argument for people supporting palestine was 'what about the genocide in sudan' etc.

Well what about the leaders that are even worse in a 100 countries? Oh they don't have oil.

I doubt this will end up any different long term than any other country theyve done it to.

The gloves are off and anyone can just take any leader now without presenting a case in regards to international law?

Oh so now international law is relevant after all the shit going on the last couple of years? If anything all the clowns should be rounded up from all sides and be put before The Hague.

The majority of shit places are heavily sanctioned. First comes sanctions then some form of military force.

The Venezuela situation has so many stakeholders. No country has had a third of their population flee due to oppression. They have a novel peace prize opposition leader in exile.

Europe is calling for calm but as if they're not glad Maduro is gone to now reassess the situation and rub their hands at potential new oil markets opening up after closing off Russia.

Oil is part of it but there's so much more to it. Venezuelans definitely wish for change and the oil matter can be dealt with too with customers willing to buy.

I think a lot of government and military members have gladly seen the back of Maduro. The government might just install someone else and that's that but they knew the risk of more American action was there and a slit finger is all they'll hopefully come away with.

As I said, is the USA now going to sheriff the 100 countries with bad leaders but no oil?

I don’t care less about maduro. I have different friends in Venezuela. Some like him, most don’t.

None of them want the resources stolen for us profit.

The world already sanctions countries but more so individuals from those places with poor records.

Venezuela now has a chance for sanctions to be lowered and enter bigger markets to the benefit of all. Oh wait that's trickle down economics so we can't have that. Best just not do anything at all and poke the bear and send drugs into the US, Mexico and the Caribbean and flood Colombia with migrants. I bet Colombia are glad the people may return.

People supporting the invasion of a sovereign nation when it’s an ally doing it but not when it is “enemies”. The hypocrisy is astounding. Disgraceful.
