Indonesia have been absolutely nowhere and Saudi smartened up. Nothing overly good just playing the ball around a bit.

Kanno throws the ball away before a throw, yellow. Moans to ref and he's off. Rightly so! He's still on the pitch 2min later walking around. A Saudi official comes on to the pitch to stall and gets a red. 3 min now be walks around hoping to drain time. Ref had better add it all back on.
 
Honestly fuck off. Saudi player runs into marker and goes down grabbing chest and throat like he's dying.
 
Full time. Saudi Arabia win 3:2. Indonesia really tame but for a few moments and too timid when they needed to go forward. Lacked cohesion.

Indonesia will be pretty spent after that battle and Iraq should be in a decent position to win.
 
Just more traffic here but I fear Arnold may be let go if Iraq finish second to go to the next round despite being retained after missing direct qualification.
 
Oman take the lead against UAE. I'm really surprised but the game is sold out and UAE have brought a tonne of fans over.

I hope Oman win as the 3 point gap puts massive pressure on Qatar.
 
@JS96 if you watch the replay can you let me know about the physical side of the game
I have a hunch we struggle to adjust to a permissive referee after experiencing so many games with harsh afc refs. Live it felt like canada were doing a lot of nudges, including off the ball, which disrupted us but when we tried to lift our physicality we did so in a naive way, giving away obvious fouls and not really using the refereeing style to our advantage

I have no way of watching the replay though
 
I've watched enough of the replay and recall plenty live and I think your assessment is generally true. Canada milked a lot also.

There were moments of confusion where we'd expect a whistle and it was play on. I did that too myself while watching.

Normally we'd like a permissive ref against Asian opponents but we've gotten used to putting up with the ME crap. It's a much more standard match against Japan where both teams can assess you'll likely need to play on.
 
UAE level after going hard to find an equaliser.
 
I didn't realise it'd gotten so bad. There are 10 or more naturalised players for UAE mostly from Brazil and also Argentina and Portugal.
 
Oman have forgotten what pain is. ME football is a joke.
