- A draw vs Croatia (it practically counted as a win as we qualified ahead of them for the Round of 16)

Was about to say it should have been 3pts but the referee blew full time at the most weirdest of times that I've ever seen in a game - but then again, Kewell was offside, so still would have been a draw and they cancelled eachother out.

Yeah there’s heaps of things like that. Replace Canada with England and it’s the same kinda thing.

I think “The Football Championship” is the one I’d like to see the most. Basically the same again, but Argentina as the seeded team

That being said, it would be nice if we as a nation engaged w/our Commonwealth-brethren through ️ more often(particularly when stronger oppo isn’t available)

How ️ in any format still doesn’t have a presence in the Commonwealth Games after all this time, is just fvcken criminal IMHO..

Methinks “amateurs” or “semi-pros”-only seems the most realistic avenue for actual 11v11️ to feature at the Games.

It’s my understanding that ️ was actually intended to debut at the Auckland ‘90 edition, but obv came to nothing on that front.

Are the qualifying paths grouped perfectly that any winner would then be assigned to the right pot? What if all the lowest ranked teams win? Someone gets into pot 2 because they were in Italy's group?

Fox Sports just churning and article. Surely FIFA can't change this because the draw happens before the qualifiers.

Oh wow - interestingly they’ve been playing out of Poland, so… if Ukraine v Poland ends up being the final, Ukraine will be the “Home” team in Poland

I would reckon that the Ukrainians would consider switching home games in March 2026 to another nearby country (possibly Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary or Romania) to avoid the potential for a pro-Poland crowd in Poland in the playoff final.
