Dating an Easter Island statue in other words.Mary Fowler is dating NRL player Nathan Cleary for those who are interested in such things.
Official attendance 35,170 at Optus Stadium. What was the crowd?
We can still dream of the Matildas going all the way and lifting the trophy come the end of regulation time, especially since we only lost 1-0 in the last two finals against Japan, but the Tillies will have to have the game of their lives on Saturday. At the risk of sounding like NoMates, I think Japan will spank them. But I’ll still be watching and cheering them on.

Boo no negative energy allowed! At the risk of sounding like NoMates, I think Japan will spank them. But I’ll still be watching and cheering them on.

The Chin's long lost cousin.
Yeah I'm not confident at all. I think they'll give us too many problems and we'll putting out spot-fires everywhere and get overwhelmed. At the risk of sounding like NoMates, I think Japan will spank them. But I’ll still be watching and cheering them on.
Hopefully Korea does us a favour by upsetting Japan.Yeah I'm not confident at all. I think they'll give us too many problems and we'll putting out spot-fires everywhere and get overwhelmed.
I mean he does support the Nix! The two Kiwi teams have few Aussie fans (combined on average they only just edge Macarthur, the least supported Aussie A-League team). I think this shows that either the entirety of their Aussie fanbases are Kiwi Aussies and/or that Kiwi Aussies support Aussie teams while Kiwi Kiwis support Kiwi teams.NM's a Kiwi pretending he's Aussie.
I think she has been immense for the last 2 games - over the full 90 minutes.Torpey sure came alive the last 15. Great last two games.
Lani and Torps are having very good tournaments. Usually Torps wouldn’t start and Lani has proven she shouldn’t but this tournament they’ve been epic. Hopefully this form continues for Torps and she finds a big move. Thorns didn’t play her much but now she’s starting for Newcastle who are in the WSL2 and unlikely to be promoted this season.I think she has been immense for the last 2 games - over the full 90 minutes.
She is playing so well at Left Back for the Matildas ATM, I don't think Catley could do any better. Instead Heatley was dropped, for Catley to play as Left CB after KT's stunnin performance against North Korea.
Of course the interplay between Catley and Foord, with interchanging overlapping and underlapping wasn't on show, but Torpey won so many hard balls, using her slight looking body superbly, was composed on the ball in limited time and space, had good vision, and thought quickly under pressure, there is no way she could be replaced after she replaced Nevin at Left Back against Noth Korea. Possibly the Matildas best outfield player over the last 2 game
Torpey was critical in the second goal. She battled hard in central midfield against 2 Chinese opponents to get a much needed foot in to pass the ball to Kerr. Kerr in turn passed to Foord, who then subsequently played a perfect assist for Kerr's amazing goal from such a tight angle, whilst running at high speed.
I'm not sure Torpey and Kennedy were having a great time at club level, before the tournament. I don't believe club coaches should determine national team selection.
Kennedy in Midfield and Torpey at Left Back have worked well in this tournament.
Newcastle United are four points off third place in WSL 2 with a game in hand though so Kaitlyn Torpey might still be promoted through the pro-rel playoff.Thorns didn’t play her much but now she’s starting for Newcastle who are in the WSL2 and unlikely to be promoted this season.
True. Closer than I had in mind. But even then I still think the team that comes last in the WSL will beat them.Newcastle United are four points off third place in WSL 2 with a game in hand though so Kaitlyn Torpey might still be promoted through the pro-rel playoff.
