Women's Asian Cup match discussion thread

Bangladesh vs North Korea and Uzbekistan vs China tomorrow at 1:00pm AEDT and 7:00pm AEDT respectively. 1:00pm has to be the earliest ever hot season kickoff in Aussie pro soccer.

North Korea with their second straight Women's Asian Cup group B game kicking off at 1pm AEDT after their group stage opener against Uzbekistan started at the same time. Both matchday 2 fixtures for group B will be held at CommBank Stadium, as was the case for matchday 1.

We should have some North Koreans in the ALW. Would be a good way to actually grow the women’s game there for future generations after pumping money into youth development instead of letting the young prospects sit there and stall. But of course that won’t happen.

Anyway, how is this legal in Australia? How can foreign staff block people (even if they’re from their country) from roads leading out of Parramatta?

Shot conversion was better for the Matildas against Iran compared to opening day against the Philippines but we still need to be clinical and capitalise on our chances at goal, in addition to trying to stay onside.
 
I thought the Iranians gave a good account of themselves considering what must be going through their minds.....

Yeah the situation is truly sad. Hopefully the regime is either completely toppled before they go back or they sign for clubs overseas to avoid having to return to what is in reality a shithole. Great people, terrible government.

The problem is their families back in Iran. If they got asylum in Aus, their families back in Iran would be punished.

Why would women playing sport who refuse to sing the anthem side with a regime that degrades women and banned them from even being in stadiums until FIFA told them to unban them?
