What floats my boat.

Starbucks is dying/suffering mate, they have closed up heaps.
Its crap but mericans like crap.
The countless visits made to China - the stoopid young followers line up at starbucks - I shake my head purely cause its merican.
Can't recall I've ever had a gloria jeans and likely never will.
Coffee Club is very Qld based from memory - hardly see one in Syd/Melb.

Doubt the coffee culture will die here despite the price hikes.
Can't believe how many and how busy it is and people say doing it tuff.
A 20 here a 40 there for smashed avo etc

I have been frequenting the central coast of late - every single cafe is packed out.
There's 3 or 4 Starbucks in Brisbane CBD. I'm not particularly a fan. The customer base tends to be Asian.

hey - back at you I find your the hyped up one through some threads hahaha

I luv my caps man, small ones though not the next sizes up people get.
Plus IF we out to dinner and i'm on the pi$$ I can have a expresso/macchiato (piccolo are the kids man) or 2 washed down with a few ports as well LOL - I sleep like a baby might I add.
Think I'm pretty tuned to my intake - wog in me Muz, still only weigh on 80k :) skinny runt and yep very much on the GO with without caffiene haha

Going to start a war here.

Have to tell you this though LFC, Croatia, or any Balkan country just about, makes better coffee than Italy.

Or put another way, they make coffee more suited to my taste. (Small flat whites with glossy micro-foamed milk. What they would call in Croatia a veliki macchiato.)

Italian coffee is not hot enough and they can't do that nice glossy milk like they do here and in Croatia.

Went to Sardinia, Corsica and Italy last year and was very disappointed with what was on offer. Corsica is particularly shithouse.

No I didn't go to every cafe in Italy and I'm sure you can get good coffee in Italy but in Croatia the bloke at the local servo makes a better coffee than half the cafes in Italy.

Having said all that my coffee machine was made in Italy.

yep - same applies in china re declines
Starbucks is facing declining performance in China, with a significant drop in market share and revenue due to intense competition from budget-friendly local rivals like Luckin Coffee. Factors contributing to this downturn include an economic slowdown, price-sensitive consumers, and the increased availability of lower-cost, higher-convenience options, forcing Starbucks to implement price reductions and focus on localizing its menu to stay competitive.

Can I say what do you expect from a Franchise hahaha
Anyway its crap and a fad kind of place for me - its not a real coffee - mericans hardly have decent caffiene but from their migrant establishments :)

no war buddy from me - italians are not cappacino (well from my history and outlook) - expresso's are the main go to - milk ? traditionally I never ever saw my ol man and relos have caffee with latte.
Its why so many true Italian cafe owners scoffed at these latte/babycino and all that BS that arised the last 20+yrs.
I used to frequent Leichardt/Norton st. so much back in the day and giggle when hearing these wanka mums asking for these stooopid caffienes, worse is Skim and soy requests etcetc.....
A mate is a soy boy - I give him heaps every week after golf, softcock haha

Hey we all have our prefs hence no war, I enjoy many coffees other than Italian, turkish/Middle East specifically Saudi.
Horse's for course's as said not fussed as long as it suits my taste buds I'm happy.

I like summer. Warm weather is the best.

However here is Australia we like to play football in 40 degree weather for some reason. :ROFLMAO:

I could never own a coffee shop. The first person that walked and said I'll have a large, soy, latte, decaf, cappuccino with caramel would get punched in the face.

The wife isn't big on normal milk since she got bitten by a tick. (That's a whole other story.) She's migrated to barista almond milk. Actually, not too bad.

Yer I'm the same Muz re coffee orders I'd like to tell people get a coffee at maccas instead and stop holding me up ffs.
OK I get people who may have lactose intolerant issues etc I'll forgive them I suppose.

It’s easy to find a Starbucks cafe almost anywhere in the world, but in Australia, there aren’t that many. That’s because in 2008, the company closed more than 70 percent of its underperforming locations, leaving only 23 Starbucks stores throughout the entire continent.

According to ChatGPT Starbuck have undertaken a period of expansion within Australia...

Current Expansion Strategy & Plans

Having achieved profitability (even if briefly) and reached a more stable scale, Starbucks is pushing forward with expansion, particularly into Western Australia (Perth).

The plan includes opening at least 12 drive-thru stores in suburban Perth by end of 2024, plus more in early 2025.

There is a focus on drive-through formats and convenience. This is a shift from earlier expansion which was more store-in-mall / urban retail.

Their target is to have over 100 stores in Australia in the near term (next year or so).
Although I'm like you I'm not big on big cups of coffee flavoured milk.

I like the slightly acrid taste and texture of hard coffee.
