Might be hard to hold onto. We will only have friendlies before the draw and will need to win them all. Others below have qualifiers which will attract higher ranking points
 
Wouldn't mind seeing a super computer show certain teams are much less likely in order to avoid confederation clashes. I think it's vital we get pot 2.

A group of Spain Uruguay and Italy will hurt despite the blockbuster clashes.
 
Shit Bolivia beat Brazil to make the playoffs. Reading this affects our Pot 2 chances?
 
Ecuador will knock the Socceroo's out of Pot 2 with the latest FIFA ranking to come as WCQ rate higher in points then friendly's.

Just had a look at upcoming fixtures for USA - and well.. could be a small golden opportunity for us. USA play Ecuador - and given that USA is seeded regardless, we'd want USA to win that (and then would also mean more points for us by beating them, should that eventuate).

A lot depends on how we go in our friendlies but if Austria Germany and Italy all don't qualify directly I think we make pot 2. If only two of them it depends how well Panama go in their last 4 qualifiers. A couple of the European teams below us could still get past us in rankings but it won't have much of an effect on pots as if they qualify directly they would push another team above us into pot 4.

Using these pots, I think the dream draw would be:
Canada, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand (or Suriname, but the fact of an Aus v NZ game at a World Cup is a dream of mine).

The worst?
Anyone that's not a host or Morocco, Australia, Paraguay/Algeria, Any of the UEFA playoff winners.
