What are your most useless (but interesting enough to know) football stats? Also a place to ask questions for a useless stat.

For example - I’m asking myself: What ground has hosted the most Socceroos games (at home)?

EDIT:

The Top 5:
  1. Olympic Park (Melbourne) - 34
  2. Sydney Football Stadium - 29
  3. Sydney Sports Ground - 19
  4. Hindmarsh Stadium (Adelaide) - 19
  5. Stadium Australia (Sydney) - 18

* Disclaimers
- World Cup Qualifying cycles where the whole stage was played at a neutral venue, etc do not count as 'home games' (eg, Round 2 of 2022 WCQ do not count, but the two games in Qatar during Round 3 do)
- Friendly games where Australia was listed as the home team (according to Wikipedia), and the 'away' team was not the venue of the match, count as home games.
- Games that Australia hosted due to political reasons (such as this year's Canberra game) do not count as a home game.
- Venues that are different, but on the same location (Sydney Football Stadium 1980s/Current SFS, Parramatta Stadium/CommBank Stadium) are considered the same venue. Sydney Sports Ground may fall in this category, (as the precursor to SFS), but it's technically the SFS carpark, so have considered this a separate venue.

Here's a list of every stadium that the Socceroos have played a 'home' game at.
The list is in order of when they hosted their first match.
  • Gabba (Brisbane) - 2
  • Sydney Cricket Ground - 14
  • Newcastle Showground - 3
  • Original Sydney Showground - 7
  • Jubilee Oval (Adelaide) - 1

I find all these stats interesting, NCB!

Had that happened, I think we can all agree they either wouldn’t have made it or at best would’ve only been at Viduka/Kewell/Cahill-level. Not much of an in-between would’ve been on the cards for them IMHO
was thinking the same - we would have ruined them.

I take it the Central Coast stadium national team game was the Olyroos against, Iraq? Olympic qualifier? Certainly since the rebuild the A team hasn't played there. Unless there was some Oceania game.

Robert Lewandowski on the cusp of moving to Blackburn Rovers. Plenty of articles with the whole story. Probably wouldn't have kicked on.

Also Jamie Maclaren was at Rovers and was going to get a go but I believe he had a training injury the day before?

Just interesting sliding doors stories. Could listen to them for hours.

Big in the NFL. Scoragami as in scores that have never happened before. Amazing to think that they still have games today where say, 48:22 has never happened. The point system generally keeps certain numbers at bay so you'd need safeties or missed PATs.

In football you wonder what scoregamis exist between certain teams. You could go a bit further and see what scoring order happens when they have 3:3 draws.

Question, can you sense or sniff out a 0:0 after 15min? After 5 even? Sometimes you just feel it. For me at Hannover on weekend after about 35min you just sensed it. Still, it was a thrilling goalless draw where both teams collapsed at full time so credit to them.

Best 0:0 ever I think was Sweden Trinidad and Tobago at 2006. Such a thrilling siege by T&T.

I enjoy being at Australia Colombia in 2018. Would've had an aneurysm had Luongo's zig zag gone in.

Costa Rica v Holland in 2014 Quarters was also pretty fascinating from memory....

Can this thread include trivia?

The players with the top ten appearances in the EPL are represented by 3 countries. Name the three countries.

England. Wales (Giggs, Speed too?) Australia for Schwarzer.
MS @ 514 appearances, not bad !
4 GK's in this list

Which club has been in top flight the longest?

Everton

The club that can boast playing the most seasons in the top tier is Everton, who are about to play their 121st season there (out of a possible 125 league seasons). The city of Liverpool has always been represented in footballs top tier.

Hows this one :
Who has the fastest red card in Premier League history?
