Decent time zone for Australia. A bit rougher for Europe.

SBS showing all Australian games.

Need a good early showing against Italy.
 
Super keen for this World Cup to kick off.

An interesting stat ahead of the game against Italy: 38% of this squad have Italian heritage.

(Esposito, Inserra, Bonetig, Talladira, Okon Jr, Agosti, Badolato, Caputo)

Considering this match against Italy will literally have every single Serie A scout watching it, and that these players are likely to be eligible for Italian passports, a good performance could lead to some Serie A moves for these players.

Beyond that though, it’s also just super cool for them to be able to play against their mother country at a World Cup.
 
I think morgan likes to rotate a lot. We should go for the win against italy and cuba and rotate against the argies with a more defensive squad

FIFA+ are live streaming ALL matches from Chile for free. Just register. Watched JAP v EGY and CHI v NZL this morning. Kiwis very unlucky not to get draw. You can select to watch a game "from the start" so if SBS are slow getting Oz match replays up, go to FIFA+

I just downloaded the app. Thats very cool.
 
How do you think we will do this tournament? I do think we may struggle to score which gives me some worries but I understand that this is a strong team we are bringing. I think getting out of the group is well-in reach. With Irankunda, I think we would've had a genuine chance to win the whole thing, definitely not the favourites but a slim chance.

Either we'll still come across as raw and naive or seem quite the cohesive unit. We have a good coach and our players have some senior football. The other teams in our group have well educated footballers with lots of youth and some senior minutes in their own right. They don't exactly stand out as fearsome though. Time will tell.
 
Maybe it's me getting older but this is a world cup just like when James Holland was in Egypt or Brillante score the screamer. This is the biggest thing for this age group and we've missed enough tournaments ruing the chance not to be part of it. Bring it on.
 
We will do well to win a game, the last time an Australian team won a game at the under 20 World Cup was around 2001 or 2003 editions!
