I found the rest is football extremely boring I like all three but they don't have chemistry

Rehashing the classics again.

bittersweet seeing stuff like this - because I don't know whether to show my wife or not - she would normally love this sort of stuff, but because she made the choice to include songs from the movie at her father's funeral earlier this year, she gets emotional at the sound/sight of anything Wonka, so I don't want to set her off

The AI version of Gene Wilder's voice is a bit unnerving for me.

Nothing good on anymore

I haven't seen a show since better call Saul/breaking bad everything just seems kind of meh

I'd love a comedy though something fun

I thoroughly enjoyed Widows Bay, could be worth a shot as it's pretty comedic. It's not as serious as those shows but it's good fun

Hollywood is applying AI and CGI to "regenerate" the classics without actually having to exercise imagination.

To me, the acting that made the classics great cannot be replaced by flashy effects. Maybe the younger generations, who did not grow up with the originals, will like them.

I suspect the flashy effects align more with the portable media and instant gratification profile and I am no longer considered a target audience.

Fair enough. Give me the option to watch one of my favourites again on Netflix and the like and I'm happy enough waiting for something new and original to appeal to me.

I just watched and slept through The Last Seven and would recommend it to anyone else who did not sleep well last night and had to get up particularly early this morning. I had a decent nap.

There’s this movie SAIPAN about Ireland’s disastrous preparation for their 🇰🇷🇯🇵 ‘02 WC campaign that culminated in Roy Keane walking out on the squad; it stars UK comedy-veteran Steve Coogan as then-🇮🇪 NT gaffer Mick McCarthy:

And here’s the clip of the climactic bust-up between McCarthy and ol’ Keano:
