Conan O'Brien calls out pedophiles in America in Oscars monologue:

“It's the first time since 2012 there are no British actors nominated for Best Actor or Best Actress. A British spokesperson said, 'Yeah, well, at least we arrest our pedophiles.'”

In turn a lot of people in that room are guilty themselves. Awkward!
 
The wife put on the Oscars last night - sorry for me listenning to O'Brien he's the typical try hard yank humour - some of it was utter crap.
True that was a good call out re pedo remark - one of his better ones.
Got to say the utter wank/glam/OTT types/outfits makes me sic many a time - what do these insular yanks think they are.
O'Brien made mention about the upside down world were all in and followed by saying lets enjoy and honour all involved in the Industry considering the bad outside world.
How about you pretentious wanka's for a change tone down all the glitz and glam dress in civvy clothing and be humble how spoilt you bitchs are whilst others live on streets/getting bombed/families ruined etcetc.....were going global over a billion viewers.
Seriously pathetic.

Conan is one of the funniest comedians. Be curious who you find funny these days if not him
 
I have struggled to embrace merican humour for decades (talk show ones I really struggle with) - it hardly comes across as fluent/natural, typically staged - comes down to individual taste eh MCG.
If any one like Seinfield pulled it off good.
IMO Kevin Hart eats O'Brien for breakfast.

Gervais is the bomb :) pretty obvious why he got punted presenting Oscars, he's too dam smart for them and struggles to conform to their play list.

Heck even when I watch Graham Norton Show pulls off some crackers compared to O'Brien - witty natural during interviews.

Anyway back to movies/series ?
I watched a newby series of all places on P+ the wife likes Michelle Pfeiffer/Kurt Russell < both ol codgers to many of you.
The Madison.
Got to say really gravitated my viewing of todays pretentious precious gens incl looking at my own precious ones.
New York spoilt grown up kids having to deal with life out in the sticks - whole new world eh not having 24/7 everything on tap etcetc....
We talk about politics and the probs today and this really hits the nail.

Oh, it was just a show I watched called 'manosphere'.

It's getting heaps of press, a documentary by Louis Theroux

I watched 'The Peaky Blinders' film on Netflix last night which started off great but had a bit of a funny ending. As a production it had cinematic scale, psychological depth, groundrd grit and a reckoning with legacy...

But yeah, i thought it had a bit of a funny ending!

Sorry NOT a fan... Was keenly anticipating a resolution to all the plot lines, and I wont spoil it, but there were too many holes for my liking 2/5 for me.

oi - I watched that doco sometime last week with the Mrs.
OMG I was cringing, how some of these wankas talk behave and believe, worse the young guys ont he streets idolising them - I don't know what worse mind you - mafs type of shows as well.
Behaviour and outlook amongst a % of young gens is pretty dam ugly.

yer gree, I got sic of it tbh didn't even watch it to the end couldn't be bothered.
House of Guinness was heaps better imo and by the same creator of Peaky Blinders.
