Yes optics definitely plays its part also, another failure when they still persist with massive stadiums even when more suited and visually appealing options are available!

Unfortunately to attract the corporate dollar, you need something to host them in, not suburban grounds. SFC have plenty that pay over $3500 per month.

I concur with your point but not all of them are SFC or MV... my point refers to the failure of say a Brisbane with relatively small crowds in a 50k plus stadium which always looks empty even with a healthy crowd.... ie the Ad Utd approach lilke hindmarsh where possible wouldve been more appealing on the eye!

In simple terms we all want what's good for Football.

We all want at some point in time more of a Football model than we have now.

First it needs to be clear since 1955 we apart from a couple of years have never had P n R at the most senior level I.e.NSL, A-L.

That aside it's where we all wants go.

Where we disagree is the best method to get there.

For me the starting point is for professional Football in Australia to be respected. The competition from external sources i.e. European league's and locally AFL n NRL, is extensive

For me the respect we need in an Australian context would come from an improved A-L not the current based NPL Clubs.

I understand you see it differently, but it's important to understand we both see the same problems but have different solutions.... What's needed for whatever path is chosen that we support all levels from park thu to the national teams

I'd love a.world where football was the number one sport in Australia. Where it had 16 or 18 clubs in it's top division and those clubs averaging between 15 and 20K a game in their own football specific stadiums.

Where ambitious clubs below the top division had natural pathways up the pyramid and vice versa and where the game was played in the cooler months like football should be.

But unfortunately as Mick Jagger once said....

"You can't always get what you want...."

A scenario that plays out in every football club, league and country throughout the world in some way or another!

So as a fan of the game you've got to adapt to the situation and realism of what's actually happening.

When will that point in time come? AL will continue as is and it will never happen bc the excuse will always be its not stable enough as yet!

Except entry into NSL then was easier as was shown, as was relegation and even re promotion in many instances and lacking biases for applicants!

Improve the AL how? The tried and tested old ready to fail franchises i assume is the solution yet again!

The problem with this is that respect mentioned is always solely based in one way traffic! You keep telling us to show respect, ok, what respect has the AL/APL shown the rest to earn it! You dont need look far for the answer! The respect shown time and time again to SMFC!

I think all levels of football should be respected not just the ‘stand alone’ league.

Agree and thats one of our shortfalls but it shouldve/can be addressed in better ways by some teams is my point.. isnt a problem for other teams..
For me a right move wouldve been with the qld spend for the games a football only refurb of a ground aka 'hindmarsh style' shouldve been on the agenda and wouldve benefited roar and qld football long term more effectively, not bevessarily a new build.. Things like that rather than prop up grounds built for other codes and even then catering when it suits them and not football!

If the government won’t stump up the money, then they are snookered. You are talking $300 million for a decent refurbishment.

Your right, but we never even tried to push it as a scotsman once pointed out to me why 'didnt we even lobby local governemnts to get changes like that and access to funding and opportuunites etc on the agenda to benefit all. How did it work in SA?
A ground like lakeside wouldnt have taken anywhere near that money to he a grade ready boutique already at 12k capacity with the capacity to grow if needed

I see some pretty crappy grounds following aussies abroad, worse than what I see in the Australia cup

This is my point. Not every club needs to play out of a state of the art stadium. And a lot of these NPL clubs would be more profitable with 2-3k crowds compared to Brisbane roar getting 8-10k crowds.

W/respect mate, methinks you’re reading into it way too literally. No-one within ️ is advocating the destruction of our current national league per se, but rather of the manner in which it was founded to function and has done so ever since@ the blatant expense of the game’s ecosystem below it.

Mid, respect is earned NOT demanded.... And above all its is reciprocated ..

The APL and the FFA before them have done nothing but shit on the rest of football in this country for 20 years... who are you expecting to respect them? AFL and NRL fans?

So all you are really saying is, let the clubs that previously failed, back into the top league. Then we go back to sub standard grounds and teams with no money to compete as full time professionals.

Sorry mate, you keep on repeating "clubs that failed"???? I hope you realise that most of these clubs are still around? The only clubs that "fail" are franchises.
