The Sydney FC Thread

He was OK, saved a few crucial ones. The rest looked a bit underdone.
I was really hoping that the start of this season would be different to how we finished last season. It really feels like somehting is rotten at the club and no changing of players is going to fix that. Adelaide had no issues getting behind our defense and Uffy doesn't have an answer for it.

I was at the game and as much as I love Rhyan Grant the bloke should announce his retirement now or move into the defensive midfield role.

Both of Adelaide's goals came down his side of the pitch as he no longer can keep up with the pace needed to be a right back.

I think this has been the case for Rhyan Grant for the last couple of seasons. I am a little wary of making such comments as I made a similar comment in January 2019 about Alex Brosque 2 minutes before he scored the first goal of his hattrick against Central Coast and my old man reminds me of it everytime we watch SFC play.

But yes, i agree R.Grant as a Defensive Mid would be a great fit. He is much more confident on the ball, under preasure, than the majority of the team and hussles like no one else.

And where are they all now?

Sydney FC's 2017 U14 side may be the most stacked youth team Australia has ever seen.

🔵 Adrian Segecic
🔵 Aidan Simmons
🔵 Clayton Taylor
🔵 Corey Hollman
🔵 Cristian Volpato
🔵 Hayden Matthews
🔵 Jake Girdwood-Reich
🔵 Jed Drew
🔵 Nectar Triantis
🔵 Oscar Priestman
🔵 Rhys Youlley

That's 11 pro footballers from the same Under-14 team. Extraordinary.

And the age groups above them had Marco Tilio, Ryan Teague and Patrick Yazbek.

A wild time to be a youth player at Sydney.

so THATS the reason 1/2 of them chose not to represent Australia.....
