Last season I reckon SFC just got the recruiting a little bit off. It was pretty tight in the top half of the table. It's one of the symptoms of such a small cap. Not enough room for any real depth. I reckon they will be competitive this season though. On paper it looks like a solid squad. If Talay can't make it work then I'm sure Aloisi will.I feel like the squad is more balanced this year however Ufuk/Maisano will find some excuse.

Everyone is saying Sydney FC are weaker this season, but I don’t see it. Although it’s hard to replace Costa, Klimala, and Segecic, they’ve recruited well. Let’s see if Talay can get them playing well, not convinced by him.![]()
Sydney FC add two-time A-Leagues champion to title quest: 'I'm excited about what's ahead'
Sydney FC have bolstered their defence ahead of the club's Isuzu UTE A-League 2025-26 Round 1 opener against Adelaide United next month.aleagues.com.au
Besides Talay's weird tactical decisions last season Sydney's main problem was their porous defence. I wonder if Talay is going to be a bit more realistic this season and not go for the 5 man front line with no midfield and kids in defence strategy.Everyone is saying Sydney FC are weaker this season, but I don’t see it. Complete unknown, our striker's meant to be a "system" player. To be honest i think u guys are pretty strong. I guess with age right back is a bit of a weakness. How do u think u are at 9?
Going by Twitter/X Wellington were woeful in the final third and pretty much had there full line up against SFC reserves. If SFC get some injurys during the season they def have some great kids coming through to make up the numbers. As for Wellington i think its gonna be a very long hard season with there name on the spoon.1-0 win against Wellington today.
Many of our main players weren't playing, still building up fitness somehow lol

This will def be his last season if we don't make the play offs. The club pretty much lacks ambition as seen with the poor signings and reliance on youth which is a good thing if you want to make money selling some talented kids to overseas clubs like CCM etc but at wot cost to performance of the ALM season?, Its like the club is looking for success off the field then on. Also we have had 3 NPL players knock back contracts to sign with the club preferring to stay in the NPL - which says a lot about how they view the club (Or ALM in general). At what point is the breaking point with Giancarlo?
