The Orange Army. (Brisbane Roar Official Thread)

Good news, providing he stays fit.

D’Agostino is an excellent signing. It’s these type of players the league needs to keep hold of.
I have always liked Daggers.

Getting him back is fantastic. Nothing like an infusion of old orange blood. Will be interesting to see how Valkanis has him playing. I have never considered Daggers a nasty player - here's hoping he gets to continue playing football and is not diminished by roarligious fervour.

"Brisbane Roar can today confirm that 24-year-old forward Sharn Freier will be sidelined for an extended period after sustaining an ACL injury during Round 15 against the Central Coast Mariners at Spencer Park."

On the back of centreback Leia Varley leaving immediately for the Bundesliga it is really tough on the women's team.

Sharn Freier the second Brisbane Roar women's player to sustain an ACL injury this season after Grace Kuilamu sustained the same injury during A-League Women matchday 10 in the first leg away to Central Coast Mariners.

"Brisbane Roar Women have bolstered their defensive stocks with experienced international defender Angela Beard, who has signed with the club until the end of the Ninja A-League 2025/26 season. "

A good replacement for Leia Varley.

Edit: Although she is listed as a left midfielder/defender so maybe not.

Good signing though.

"Brisbane Roar Football Club can confirm that its upcoming A-League Men fixture against Perth Glory on Saturday, 28 February will be relocated from Suncorp Stadium to Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe, due to heavy usage of the playing surface during February.

Suncorp Stadium management recently approached the Club to discuss the potential relocation of the fixture, due to a shortened recovery following the February concert period. This has impacted the ability for the venue to return the pitch to an optimal standard for professional football.

Throughout February, Suncorp Stadium is hosting a number of major events where patrons and performers require access to the field before hosting a rugby match on the eve of the scheduled A-League Men fixture.

The cumulative impact of these events will place considerable strain on the playing surface, with a substantial amount of turf required to be re- laid in a short timeframe.

Following discussions between Brisbane Roar, Suncorp Stadium, KAYO Stadium, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL), and Perth Glory, it was determined that proactively relocating the match was the most appropriate course of action.

While the venue has complete confidence that the field will be safe and playable for the Queensland Reds v Highlanders match, they understand from previous feedback that the cosmetic appearance and reduction in grass coverage resulting from extended flooring coverage can impact A-League matches more than other football codes."

Same as always.

The users who pay more ruin the ground for the poorer team who have booked it.

Suncorp is not a premium sporting venue - it is simply a money spinner.

We should take someone to court for a change for not providing the facility at a standard they knew necessary up front when they accepted the booking. It was entirely within Suncorp's control and they chose to wreck the ground for football yet again.

Don't take bloody football bookings if you aren't able to provide the standard required.

Really pisses me off when football gets shafted like this time and again.

Yeah I really don't like Suncorp. It's way too big and too often the pitch is substandard. Kayo is fine but it's just a long way to go, particularly for people on the southside, and public transport is not that great. For all its faults, I'd still prefer RNA Showgrounds atm, preferably evening games because there is lighting but we don't get to decide match schedules. But the push apparently is for a Perry Park upgrade or redevelopment.

We have a Perry Park Application thread on the forum that has not seen any updates that I caught for ages.

If anyone making decisions on sport in Queensland/Brisbane had an interest in football, Perry Park would be a no brainer for so many reasons.

A league and statements go together like cheese and wine

The club definitely made him make that statement

So James durrington seems to have balanced the midfield a bit better?

A decent DM will do that for us.

I think DM is Durrington's position - we just have to watch him grow into it a bit more.

Fingers well and truly crossed - which makes typing a bitch but that's what you do for your team.
