I think that is interesting.Seems we are linked with D’Agostino according to Marco.
I never minded Daggers and would like to think he has sharpened his goal scoring since he played with us.

hopefully replaces ruhs rather than vidic since I'm happy with vidic
hope brazette gets another club. Great player but not physical enough for valkanis ballI could see Valkanis replacing Brazete with Daggers...or any other less preferred player.
Never hurts to have another bench/field option up front if your squad can accommodate it.
Brazete could be one of those players we would look back on in future and say "we stupidly let him go" I think.hope brazette gets another club. Great player but not physical enough for valkanis ball
Yeah, hope he finds a good spot elsewhere. He is too good to rot on the bench but I can see why he doesn't fit into Valkanis' philosophyBrazete could be one of those players we would look back on in future and say "we stupidly let him go" I think.
Yeah he was okay with us, he’d be coming back better so that’s a win if it happens.I think that is interesting.

Could be, or could turn out like a Jelacic.Brazete could be one of those players we would look back on in future and say "we stupidly let him go" I think.
I saw nothing extra and we aren't winning.Did you do anything different to get 9k last night or is it just because you're winning?
I tend to agree with you with the exception that the BR has the capability. Although there were player changes before this season, it wasn't wholesale changes. Lauton is a speed horse but too often his decision making and control of the ball wasn't up to the Aucklands standards. Vrakas is a speed horse that has better skills but again decision making was a touch poor. Also, the game plan means that if the ball does get to a racehorse he has no support because all players are in the defensive half. In the second half there was Vrakas against 5 Auckland defenders, daylight, more daylight and then there was a BR player. And the loss of Herrington has been huge because even if they lost they were defensively tight. Basically, BR still need more players to replace the like of Bility & Lauton. And for Valkanis to be more imaginative. We have no blinding speed in our front third. Biggest cause of our difficulties at the attacking end in my eyes.
Every other team has a couple of racehorses who can exploit a quick counter and get behind us. Our opponents bring at least 2 defenders with us every time we try to make a fast break.
Certainly missing Stajic at the base of our attacks along with the obvious weakening of losing a good defensive midfielder. Without him we have become confused and aimless bringing the ball out as a team. So many flat footed players holding their static positions when we have the ball - forwards running offside due to slow decision making and passing behind them, players reacting to passes rather than making the run in anticipation, and our general play lacks fluidity and purpose.
I think it was Auckland when we played away early in the seasons and had attacking options all over the field for most of the game. Nothing like that now with confused and slow interplay and very predictable passing.
We need to get back to the positive football - and we showed last night we still have the capability for it - just not the mindset.
I see Lauton and Vrakas as attacking mids - it is more the likes of Long, Vidic, and Hore that I see effectively breaking the line all game and having nothing more to add than trickery when they cannot get clear to run on goal or cross. They are the players we are relying on to do it.I tend to agree with you with the exception that the BR has the capability. If we get d'Agostino then I'd probably go with a 4-3-3. Maybe a foot 3 of McGarry, Daggers and, in Halloran's absence, try Ruhs wide right and see if he can make a go of it there. Hore at 10 with O'Shea and Klein behind him. A back 4 of B-Gilroy, Valkanis, Bility and Salas. Is Bouzanis better than Freke? Most recognise that we need at least one good cb to come in, preferably a left-footer.A no brainer, but we are the most out of form team in the comp.
We have picked up 4 points out of 18 in our last 6 games.
We are in the pack and potentially 10 points off top spot if Sydney win both their catch up games.
In saying that - with my orange glasses firmly fixed in place - those losses were to top six sides Auckland, Macarthur and City along with the unpredictable but improving Nix.
It is no coincidence that it started with Stajic getting injured and shows what a key position defensive mid is when you have a good player there.
We are now entering the stage where coach Valkanis will show us what he is made of. Is he a chop and change manager or a stick with my starters manager? Can he reverse our decreasing interplay and use the long ball for shock tactics instead of our 'go to' play?
We are out of the 'game every 3 days' Christmas joy period so that can't hurt us finding good physical shape. Just our team work and tactics to improve.
I am looking forward to seeing how we shape up against Glory. The atmosphere from their steady improvement and expectation are basically the opposite of ours.
We are due for a good run. Glory (A), Adelaide (H), Jets (A) and Mariners (H) - 12 points out of 12 coming up.
Odd one.Brisbane Roar Email:
"Brisbane Roar can today confirm that they have mutually agreed to terminate the contract of defender, Marcus Ferkranus allowing him to explore other options.
The club would like to thank Marcus for his efforts during his time here and wish him all the best for his future endeavours."
