Hehe sorry @Monoethnic Social Club , I do mean it respectfully, the Championship players are better than what's at Victory. Like we shouldn't be pissing money away on hopeless imports or long contracts like Vergos or Reec.

If the FA introduces a fair DTS before Jan and the Championship clubs can get a bit of coin for the cream of our cop then shop away amigo... :) Its giving them away for free I dont like. (or on the eve of an Australia Cup semi final) :(

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we see us (and probably some other clubs), just write this season off and do the bare minimum in the Jan window. New salary cap for 26/27, $3M plus one marquee, no other exemptions. The less contracts the better going into next season.
Right now, the contracts extending beyond this season are:
2028: Genreau, Graskoski, Inserra
2027: Davidson, D'Arrigo, Jelacic, Santos, Reec, Valadon
Every other contract expires at the end of this season.

Absolutely. And there's mixed messages about the DTS. I thought there was a DTS now except between A-League to A-League (that's why they always get mutual to join another club). But I can't keep up with all the stories changing haha.

We need to keep the money in the Australian system, and make sure international transfers are paid through the roof. And the previous NPL clubs need a sell-on clause to get a cut for their former players. I think they're entitled to receive something like a "youth training" cut anyway, but those sell-on clauses should add up handsomely.

There would still remain the small matter of sacking&replacing Diles w/someone competent.

If we could find the money Maclaren and Cummings would have to want out of the ISL. A K. Yengi loan move would probs be cheap.
 
Diles has indicated Velupillay could return after the international break. I imagine he'd be on the bench for a while as the bloke hasn't really played a competitive game for a while.
 
I think we should just play Nish as striker to solve a problem. Our wingers are doing ok and the main problem is Vergos not offering much, with Reec offering even less.

Nish was played as a 9 by Popa for the Socceroos.

Not sure what Montgomery's up to but likely he'll be looking for work like Aloisi after leaving Forest when Ange got his marching orders and I think he could get results if he were to end up replacing Diles.

I don't think Melbourne Victory should be reliant on Nish to play the sole striker role especially given that he's coming back from injury and if he were to get injured again then there's the question of who steps in as his replacement. If Vergos and Reec aren't offering much in the forward line then I'd say move Vergos to attacking midfield and either demote Jing Reec to the reserves in VPL 1 or delist him come January when the transfer window rolls around.
 
Vergos can fuck off too. Just gave Grant the free header for their 3rd and bakes Esposito for his mistake. Get fuct.
