If he could play the rest of the game, four weeks? You don’t kick with your arm lol

Gotta say, I think this is a season of wasted opportunities. That Wellington game has really, really cost us. Conceding late against Auckland and Newcastle was really annoying. Taking 7-8 weeks to find our mojo at the start of the season was very ordinary.

We still may end up with a home final if results go our way next week, but it could have and should have been so much more. We really should have made top 2.

I agree. I worry we're wasting the time we have Mata with a not top manager and some list weaknesses.

Juan Mata finally making his return from injury for Melbourne Victory's last game of the A-League Men home and away season, and is the only addition to the playing list for matchday 26. Jing Reec and Joshua Inserra are still on the injured list with their respective knee and leg injuries and may come back during the finals series, or they may not get any more game time altogether this year.

any suggestions on the starting line up? Will Mata start? Who will play RW?
Juan Mata will still be on managed minutes so is likely going to be on the bench for the elimination final against Sydney FC but should be getting more game time, and probably it'll be Santos and Nishan Velupillay as the wingers again.

I agree. With the possibility of extra time, and with Mata unlikely to be able to play the full 90 minutes, I think he gets subbed on at 60 minutes. Maybe half time if we are behind. I think Diles will want Mata on the pitch at the end… and I think we have played OK without him in recent weeks.

I think Jelacic starts over Santos. Not that I think he should… It feels like Diles favours Jelacic starts over Santos for some reason.

Don’t think it’ll make too much difference TBH, aside from the possibility of Vergos being offloaded(thus freeing-up a visa-slot)
Vergos contract expires at the end of the season. I really cannot see them renewing that contract. He's not even a starting player most of the time.
