The Football Australia Thread

I don’t see how that issue (if it is one) should derail this particular seminar. Perhaps you can enlighten me.
I don't think us chatting on the forum will derail the seminar?

But the issue is lost revenue. The sponsorship went for apparently 12k, if there was a competitive process I'd be surprised if they couldn't get more. Since she has a conflict of interest, getting a cheap sponsorship for her sunscreen brand would mean she is benefitting at football australia's expense

I guess bagging the administration is much more ‘cool’ than giving credence to attempts at trying to find a way forward for the domestic game.😉
Nothing against the seminar, rather the "leader" of it. The boss branding their own seperate products, we wouldn't want to abuse our power hey. If she wins the role after a "worldwide search" then there's nowhere left to hide for how shady the top end of town is now. And FWIW, I can't recall bagging the administration under JJ, quite the opposite, so I wasn't "cool".

I'd love to hear about the seminar though. Hopefully many fruits come to bare.

Skeptical about what in the context of this three day seminar?
The intentions, and the purpose. When there is an issue around possible conflict of interest, Garriock should not be a key person at a conference. When you are also revoking a licence, it suggests a bigger issue. What will the conference do to assist those players who lost their contracts? What will the conference do to address some of the issues around lack of finances in certain clubs? The conference is painted as something good, yet the actions of what has happened to recently in football are not exactly.

When I posted the article about the seminar for ‘first and second division’ representatives with FIFA officials I was hoping for some sensible discussion on the merits or otherwise of this type of initiative by Football Australia but all I get is ‘off topic’ crap about the interim CEO.
This forum is rapidly becoming a Reddit clone.
There is much better discussion to be had on The Roar forum although the format is poor.

Seminar? It's seems to be the retelling of a FIFA Course in "Club Management" spread over 3 days to a captive audience and nothing that the FA has come up with on their own. Those of us who know a thing or two about club administation are skeptical yes.

But whatever, enjoy the lunch platters.

Ok, so two seconds of googling has gotten me this.

Diploma in Club Management: 2nd Edition.

Here is your Australia session.

https://profootball.fifa.com/enrol/index.php?id=53 - need a login to access, fair enough.

Here is an outline of the course in PDF of the 2022-2023 edition.

There you go everyone, the world is your oyster. Learning is always good.

You're welcome.

To be fair, when @melbcityguy engaged and asked you about the seminar, you weren't exactly open for a discussion...

How do you think the meeting went?
It’s a three day seminar.

Thanks to @erogenouszone for the pdf. If FA actually help our clubs improve or deliver half of what's listed in that document we'd be in a better place. But there have been countless documents, reviews and recommendations over the years that only got buried and forgotten. We all hope for positive change, but we can't hold our breath forever. Is this just another document and seminar?? We'll see. Don't mind the apathy, mate.

‘Seminar’ was my name for the course but whatever.
The fact that anyone can find the course online doesn’t detract from the initiative of bringing club management together for this. No doubt discussions will be had aimed at improving the learned experience.
Skepticism seems to be order of the day with almost anything you wish to name, it’s no wonder that the world is in such a mess.
I prefer the ‘glass half full’ approach.
Cheers 🥰

@melbournecityguy asked about the ‘meeting’ which I took to mean a one day event so that is why I replied that it was happening over three days.

Yeah. And that was all your input for a "discussion" you were after. See what I mean? Just saying, mate, I'm sure @melbcityguy was up for some depth to the conversation, as you wanted.

I took it as asking me about the ‘one day meeting’ to which I replied that it was a 3 day meeting. There was no further reply from him then (or now even) so I don’t know what you want me to discuss with him.

"How do you think the meeting went?" was an open invitation to you for a discussion. You gave a terse reply. You obviously can't see it so don't worry about it. Just don't complain that people aren't "discussing" with you. That's all mate.

Happy to discuss how it went after the 3 DAY ‘meeting’ if that’s what he wants which will be a change from those who are just taking potshots.

I think you could step back a little libelous, the questions or posts following were nothing to make much out of but you did jump the gun to me.....
Importantly all posters/members making comment deep down wish for the best.

I don’t agree with you but I have come to the conclusion that it’s best to cease my interactions on this forum.

Here's a document from the FA from 2022. The One Football Strategy.

Section 2: Elite Teams and Pathways.

" How we utilise big data to drive player development across the football ecosystem "

Well shit, I'm impressed with "big data", that'll help with first touch and crossing.
In section 2 of the One Football Strategy also they talk about establishing a women's Australia Cup and say that the competition will be implemented by 2026, but four months out from the end of the year said competition doesn't exist yet and I won't be surprised if FA ends up having abandoned it altogether.
