I thought this was funny. South posted an innocent "congrats" to Ajden for making the WC squad and the comments were quickly flooded by Vanuatu and Solomon Islanders pledging support to the Socceroos.... hahahahaha football diplomacy eh?

He vividly remembers the first time he laid eyes on Herrington. He was one week into the job as Roar coach, watching the club’s NPL and under-20s team play and asking existing staff who the best young players at the club were. They didn’t mention him at first.

“They named five or six players: ‘We’ve got this midfielder, you’ll see this, you’ll see that,’” he said.

Is the concern the Herrington was 6th picked amongst a batch?

Yep, absolutely. It's been analysed well on here that players peak at different times and identification can be tricky but nothing angers me more than the treatment some players get and it's definitely not based on talent.

Go through many youth squads and they got so much promotion but weren't that good.

I always said Velupillay was the best amongst the Olyroos as he kept his head down and worked hard.
