The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

Yes agree re your level.
IMO similar to Marconi - dogged defense press opposites into mistakes but nothing much in general play attack.
Crowded box Spirit could t find room.
Though it’s winning games.
I actually expected more crowd what I saw watching sbs but still good.
There was only one side of the ground open, and it was far from full. Each stand holds 3700 people. But as i said in another post, fair play to those who went.

Ridiculous time slot, but I doubt they’ll be able to change it for contractual reasons. It’ll be built into the sbs Saturday double header broadcast arrangement.

Midday kick off on the day of the wanderers v Sydney fc derby down the road at parramatta. That ain’t how you’d plan it if you wanted to maximise attendance. All the more frustrating because the weather is looking fairly decent a week out. Also I won’t be able to attend if so
TBF, they would have had no idea about who would be playing in a semi final on that day.

South too good on the day, but need to do much better in converting their chances into goals.

Spirit were not good, and we gave them very little time or space with the ball. We should have run out more comfortable winners. I must say they were a bit rough with their challenges.

The long balls style was just so annoying to watch. Like others have said, probably one of our worst performances in the Australian Championship.

That second goal was all class. Great vision by Lavale to find Mikkola and then Milkola turned his defender and beat the keeper. That second goal pretty much killed off the contest.

The crowd looked around 4K.

Great atmosphere pre match with a live Bon Jovi cover band belting out great tunes. It was definitely different but really well received.

If we play like that against Heidelberg, we will lose.

Ahhh it took a while but I am happy to say that i may have finally got to crux of Suth/bear's deep rooted issues!! Its now plain as day for all to see, 'the Scots' actually just want to be Greeks deep down!

"Edinburgh has been self named the 'Athens of the North or Modern Athens' since at least the 18th century. The similarities were seen to be both topographical and intellectual. Edinburgh's Castle Rock reminded returning tourists of the Athenian Acropolis (hahaha), as did aspects of the neoclassical architecture and layout of New Town. Both cities had flatter, fertile agricultural land sloping down to a port several miles away (respectively Leith and Piraeus). Intellectually, the Scottish Enlightenment with its humanist and rationalist outlook was heavily influenced by Ancient Greek philosophy."

It all makes soooo much sense now, his attacks on SMFC in general are bc of a build up from a couple of centuries of feeling excluded by the mother nation and its superior civilization/culture!

Except like it has also been posted before, that side of the ground has a closed off large corporate balcony/section for memebers!

Just saw it 🤣🤣 they have a weird way of trying to make themselves relevant dont they!
Northern suburbs v southern suburbs is a load of crap, we are spread all over Melbourne. Historically we have way more supporters in the northern suburbs than Heidelberg. In terms of northern greece v southern greece im pretty sure both clubs are pretty mixed.

Unfortunately no night semi finals. The word was South are hosting Saturday arvo at 3.35pm so Marconi will likely get a 12.30pm game im guessing.
They shouod hold the semi finals at 5pm and 7.30pm on Saturday.

A 12.30pm kick off for the Marconi v Moreton semi final is not ideal, but understand there’s TV obligations.

More mythology? Not from Edinburgh, that is the queer capital of Scotland, wonder where that came from.

Im actually sick of the corporate balcony area at South. In the old days we had corporate boxes but not 300-400 ppl that are invisible. They could have filled up 2-3 bays at least and filled almost all the grand stand seats. At the ground the crowds looks amazing but then you pop it on tv and you see all those white seats in the far bays and it looks shit.

Well said. If you want sponsors to come on board , they don’t want to see empty seats. Fair enough, pre, post match and half time, they can fill their boots.

There was a sold out pre-match corporate event, so they should secure a bay of seats for them.

for me this has been a great concept and I hope it continues to grow and keep's it's momentum into the next years not to sure about a National Second Division as I think us over here are not ready financially unless FW or the clubs pull a team together but can always dream , but I do really like this concept.
