If this doesnt flick the switch then nothing will. Fans are showing discontent by not going, haliti's results are mediocre at best, they seem in real trouble atm.

Outside of a Auglah (who i think they bought in just for the championship) i didnt see anyone that would stack up in any of the NPL premier sides!

Have said before, a lot of their fans issues with the club at present would probably be at least partially forgiven if they were having success on the park, but they’ve been consistently under performing for years now since haliti took control. And it’s not like he took over from a club in crisis and had to rebuild, they’d been coming off a successful period when he came in.

Most of us, the FA and all the neutrals have said the same.... It was the dream championship match up and we wont get to see it this time round unfortunately!

Preston can only blame themselves though, they dropped crucial points at home which would normally be considered unthinkable!
 
Im not that fussed with Preston missing out, yes it would have been a huge crowd but its a team we now play regularly in Victoria so im not fussed. I'd rather Spirit/Metrostars and one of Apia/Marconi over the teams from here that we usually play.

If results go as expected i see Avondale being sent to Sydney to play the Apia/Marconi winner as the other semi is a very good chance to be an all Melbourne clash.

Allegedly there was some sort of vague, abstract connection to the New York MetroStars in the late-90's, which is why they changed their name from the Metro Knights to the MetroStars, so they've had that name for over 25 years now. The name's awful, but it's been there too long to change, really.

If so it’ll be a big weekend of soccer here in Sydney, wanderers also play Sydney fc in the derby at parramatta that Saturday night on the 29th. bold move to try and go head to head with that

They already had to change from their original name when they joined federation because it clashed with another club haha
 
Bayswater made some dangerous tackles during the tournament. They should've had a red in their first match against MetroStars as well.

The offseason should provide sufficient time for the club to review the 2025 season, and rebuild for the 2026 NPL NSW and Australian Championship. New coach and new players should help.

Terrific crowd today at D’Arcy Street ground. Their first point of the competition. Unlucky to be in such a tough group but they gave it their effort.

Hopefully the Tasmanian Government can assist them in their efforts to be part of a home and away league competition in the future.

Are you able to give us a picture of how many of that squad are gone and not participating in the Australian Championship. To be honest, I’d never heard of them before this competition.

They look like a decent ball playing team.

Their crowds have been passionate and great for the neutral!

Preston fans would be severely frustrated with not making the quarter finals. I had assumed that Preston would finish at least second in that group.
