The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

depends on a number of things. a lot of fans just want to go back to the NPL to be honest. this was a sentiment from a number of families after the APIA game. "if the Australian Championship means my kids get watched by the NSW riot police week in week out, we'll catch you at the next NPL match"

Metrostars match was a fan boycott. Messages went out to all fans to boycott the rest of the tournament.

even our club is now posting about the policing online.
So is rectifying the policing situation the main thing that has to change? A police presence more akin to a Marconi match (a few normal police)? Or do heads have to roll at the club? Juric or the president?

Hoping the showers hold off on Friday, any substantial threat of rain will likely be a dampener on crowd numbers, pardon the pun was genuinely unintended. One of the only issues with Marconi has always been that it’s not a very rain resistant venue. I would like to know what the architect was thinking when they initially designed the roof on the main grand stand to only cover the middle third

guys , do we want a rule where the championship thread and the a league 25/26 thread has debates about trad clubs v a league clubs/ nst v a league/ old soccer new football etc are removed to their own threads in each section.

If people are cool with the status quo happy to leave it, but just wanted to know in case people are sick of people clogging each others threads and leaving a lot of clutter

Let’s focus on the Australian Championship. Comparing and contrasting crowd attendance figures between both competitions adds no value. We all want this competition to be successful and eventually become a home and away league sitting between the NPL and A League.

Your mention about taking your kids to watch your team and seeing security like it’s a frigging national risk to society rings true.
Explaining to your kids how your watched over like a crim at a small bloody football game is beyond.
Really feel for you guys Beretta

I was at the Moreton City Excelsior game at Perry Park yesterday.

I had a chat with the coach, Cam Millar, and the club president in the build-up. They struck me as being a terrifically-run club.
Travelled in decent numbers to Melbourne and gave it a red hot go.... nothing more you can ask from a club for me.
