The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

I think the best outcome would be that FA to start up regions pathway allows a team like Yoogali as well as other teams like a Darwin Olympic to set up into the championship where there's no clear NPL to qualify from
Hmm... to do that, they essentially need to make sure there's a league set up. Eg, NT gets recognised as NPL equivalent. Or FA can force FNSW to create a Regional Super League for Riverina + Western NSW or something to connect up to NSW's NPL - and tough shit for clubs that don't want to travel there once a s season.

With our powers combined we could map the entire history of every Australian club to ever play hahaha! But NSW and Victoria would be a full-time job in itself.
I mean... that is a kind of a dream of mine.

I've kind of set up a barebones template up for anyone to jump in and help

FA won't fork out for them I think, but there might be more hope for government funding, especially for Darwin.

Agree

They’ve got a very tough group to compete in. Great to have them in Australian Championship, but they are highlighting the gap between Tasmanian and mainland football quality.
South Hobart weren't outclassed against Wollongong Wolves, but Heidelberg blew them off the pitch today in the first half, being 6-0 up at half time.

SH outscored Heid in the second half by Wright scoring a goal. Full time score was 6-1 to Heid.

Heid look like the best non- AL team I've seen since the AL started in 2005. They beat 3 successive AL teams in the Aus Cup, despite the AL teams having heavy training legs.

Heid were better in every facet of the game, despite SH tightening up defensively after the first 45 mins.

We need an AL club here in Tas to give teams a new bar to aspire to.

There must be a competition between Sydney United and Sydney Olympic supporters about which supporter group can post the most complaints about their clubs ownership.

I must say though, it is pretty embarrassing that some of the foundation clubs are getting beaten every week. Wollongong are probably the worst of the lot - they looked terrible yesterday. This can't happen again next season.

lets not forget some of these foundation clubs came 6th, 7th and 9th in their leagues.

just because you are a foundation club, doesn't mean instant success lol

what a goal from Croatia! Absolutely making all of our early predictions worth nothing

Reminder, Yoogali, Capital football, etc

i went out to the Spirit vs Canberra game yesterday.

the Canberra boys can play, they show real fight, and should of equalized right at the end when they hit the post. If they dont make it out of the group, they can hold their heads up high, they've been a real problem for all teams so far.

Must note, no idea how the FA deemed this match high risk, once again Police Raptor Squad were present. Must be the Croatia Tag.

Again, as I’ve said previously, on balance accounting for the past 20 years worth of performance on and off the field in the post nsl era, these clubs are deserving of their spot, just because they’re going through a rough patch on the field atm doesn’t mean they’re not. These are clearly the strongest clubs in nsw when all is said and done and everything taken into account.

And also for a proper home and away league format, the talent would concentrate at those x number of clubs, this couple of years with this format will likely be a a bit of a historic outlier

Just pathetic by the FA once again and obviously going to be the same for any Croat Club involved.
Fancy a travelling Canbra Cro club against a relative small NPL minnow considered a crowd "risk" factor.
The FA are the ones who should be covering these security costs full stop.
Hope the Clubs involved really press the FA about this.

I had a christening to attend blew my chance getting down to Spirit game but watched a bit on the mobile.
Again CC impress me agree Beretta.
What impressed me more is WA's Baywater vs APIA.
I really expected us to knock them off considering the difference of NPL competition - maybe many of our clubs need to adjust better re travelling for its been years but damn Bays sure dug in.
We pressed hard the last 10 alot of ball just couldn't get enough clean shots with the crowded defense.

Again how good is it to see NPL like we have the recent weeks.

Horrible - I can't recall any issues with them at games in Canberra over the years. Not sure if it's my memory or not, but for Canberra specifically, there's no reason for that.

In fact, the club regularly hosts many, many, many finals - whether they are in them or not.

Its probably because of the affiliation with Sydney United Supporters and game being in Sydney.

Good on them for having a partnership(I’m assuming) w/HNK Zadar, but surely touching base over there could’ve waited ‘til after The Championship’s conclusion❓

The club president def doesn’t have his priorities in order, one can only conclude👎🏼
Doesnt seem like the fanbase has their players best interest at heart either... poor look all around
