Summer of Cricket thread

I thought 222 was a poor innings by Vic.

Then Tas batted and O'Neill in particular beat the bat a lot on a helpful pitch with the new ball. Missed the first hour of yesterday, but it was the same with the Tas attack at the start of the innings. The pitch then settled down a bit.

We couldn't read the speed gun. The numerals were too small. Would have loved to know how fast O'Neill and Perry were bowling? In the past 25 yo O'N has only bowled at 125-130 kph, but with a lot of control and he can wobble the ball.

Tas have lost 4 wickets. Up to the Slug to play another quality innings under pressure.
 
South Australia 1/20 at stumps on day 1 of their Shield game against New South Wales at Karen Rolton Oval in reply to their 269 all out. Travis Head dismissed for just 5 runs off 12 deliveries with one four 4.4 overs into the innings, posting an eight-run opening partnership with Clare Hunt's brother Henry.

Clare Hunt is a current Matildas player and is going very strong, getting 72 minutes in the Tillies' rout of Iran before being subbed off.
 
Mack Wright has probably wondered why he only rarely plays red ball. In a word, technique, or rather lack of, specially foot work against the new ball. I reckon he'd score more runs down the order.

Tigers batting humbled with only one, Tim Ward reaching 50 in its chase for victory. The game was gone when veterans Wakim then Webster were dismissed, ending another disappointing campaign by the Apple Islanders.

Blues were no better in its victory bid against SA with only Lachlan Shaw (64) showing any real resistance. A late surge by Joel Davies and bowler Charlie Stobo offered some hope but a pull shot headed for a six by Davies found the deep mid fielder. Game set and match.

Vic applied tactics where they put all the fielders on the boundary when Webster was batting, trying to induce a run when he batted with the tail.

Then Vic attacked with attacking fields against the Tas batters when bowling. Webster would've scored about 70, but didn't take the runs offered to protect the tailenders.

Tigers left it too little too late, but Ward, Jewell, Wakim and Webster batted well enough. Silk and Doran failed. Can't believe they didn't play Tom Dwyer instead of Mac Wright as Weatherald injury replacement?

Webster took 5 wickets in the game too, bowling pace.

Very impressed by Perry's pace bowling in the second innings. Can't remember seeing him before.

Harper, the Vic keeper, also scored a good 95 in the first innings.

This Vic team is very quiet in the field! Very different from their predecessors!

I don't have it ATM, but have you thought to get the cheaper KAYO version of FOX, Baggers?

Yeh. I have to agree as I just took a look at the radar DC.
I used it for the West Indies series. No interest in having it permanently.

Given that it was behind a Prime paywall took away most of the interest for me. I gave the Kiwis a chance but the Indians blew em off the park.

The Aussie batting was abysmal.
