Straya Day

Wow.

For the record, I have no pride in the 'australian identity'. I don't give a fuck. I am not for it, nor am I against it.

It's a nice place. I like it. That's the extent of it.

Love the football team though.
WHY do you love the football team though? I mean you do you I suppose but it seems strange to me..

re-read it.

I said decked out.

And yes, they are fucking idiots. I don't give two fucks about the flag. I reckon it's stupid having a foreign monarchy, but morons can do what they want.

Who wears a chinese made aussie flag all over them? Dumb bogans. They donlt even know the history of the st george cross etc
Yeah fair enough there ARE levels of wankerism and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a flag as a grown man either.. Its no different to those thousands of well meaning morons draping themselves in Chinese made Free Free Palestine Pty Ltd merch...

Because I like football. I understand the difficulties the pioneers of the game have faced.
But why not support any OTHER national team or even a club side if your patriotism runs so hot and cold? Not having a go, just interested to know.. I am fairly patriotic of Australia yet am pretty ambivalent on national sporting teams (club over country ALWAYS for me).

I also said 'when not at a sporting event'

And for the record, when I see someone walking round melbourne inner city covered in palestine stuff etc I feel very similar, they're usually just a different type of idiot.

Im for a change of flag too btw, cant stand the union jack and think its time here is done.. sooner we are republic the better but while it IS our nations flag, a certain reverence is expected, at least from me.

I have dont really patriotism in general. But my team is my team. I don't think this falls under that. Growing up seeing teh struggles of football in australia, it runs deeper than just the colours.

So someone holding an Australian flag is a wanker but wearing a Matildas jersey is a legend? Sometime I think you guys rail against shit just to rail against shit... seriously? If your gonna let Pauline and a bunch of red-neck, druggie right wing losers hijack any semblance of pride you feel in our nation, you are weaker than I thought.

He has a point. Generally a decked out cape wearer, not at a sporting event, is a tool or bogan that has a ute that says 'fuck off we're full' on the back of it. (Bonus points, southern cross tattoo.)

Look at the crowd at the reclaim Australia rallies. Bogan white trash most of them.

I can appreciate it being the symbol of our country but that's it. The fact it's been co-opted by the you know who lot means I'd never wave it at an event. (And if you look at any sporting event you barely see it. There's a reason for that.)

I'll wave a kangaroo flag, a southern cross flag or a green and yellow flag but not our flag. (As an aside I've taken a blow up kangaroo to 4 world cups.)

Southern Cross tattoos are my favourites... Pointing out how many other flags the constellation appears on to someone with a mullet should be on Olympic sport.

this behaviour is just as bad as knocking us wogs of the past though, I get it knocking the bogans and their background like we called them skips but not all are as such with were full decals - every country has their redneck/bogan types.
Aussies are conservative generally Muz thats why you don't see patriotism being OTT barring the excpetions, embarrassed to even sing the anthem let alone know all the words and thats typical aussie.
I also wouldn't be seen dead holding up a boxing roo like you have at WC's feck that bogan - your a bogan at heart as well with the green cancer might I add hahaha
So there is racism inside all to a degree it seems.

100% conversation starter.

In Russia I had so many locals wanting to get a photo with me I had to lend it to another Aussie bloke. Not joking when I say I probably stood there for a hour getting photos with dozens and dozens of amazing hot Russian women.

And here's me, old and married, and could do fuck all about it even if I wanted too

What 'behaviour'?

Slagging off bogans dressed in flag capes having a crack at anyone not their colour?

They're fair game if you ask me.

You can get them on eBay. Get the yellow one. I reckon it's better than the brown one.

I took a big one to South Africa and then bought about 2 dozen mini blow up ones to give to the kids around the place.
