State of Origin (Men's & Women's)

Defence dominating, qlds try a bit of a miracle and nsw tries a bit of luck. Wonder if the game opens up in the 2nd half or we continue to see a grind

Need more World Cup ads that aren’t from fucking Sportsbet. If Pauline Hanson and One Nation can get an ad nowhere near the election surely the World Cup can during the tournament.

My brain is so footballfied that i got excited when walsh is coming on late because it would lock him in as a dual national :D

What is this unc yapping about? “Selection processes”? Buddy only two teams play in Origin, the selection process is the same.

Lol what are the rules in rugby league? Could the Kiwis technically cap him despite his Kangaroos caps?

Good performance from qld, to be honest hard to feel any joy from winning a league game during the world cup (maybe us socceroos fans dont get origin)

Also feel the sport has become too high scoring with all the rule changes. I remember the devastation and elation when a team scored a try as most games had neither team crack 20 points

Changes I would make if I was NSW coach based off observations from this series:

- Trell in
- Strange in for Moses. You can’t have both Cleary and Moses, they’re too similar. it’s either Luai/Strange and Cleary/Moses nothing else works
- Robson is garbage, you need Brailey
- Martin in for Lucas. Martin is an unhinged lunatic and will bully Qld.
- Murray starts for Yeo. Drop Yeo completely. Yeo just doesn’t cut it at this level. Never has, never will. It’s always a reputation pick.
- Victor out for literally anyone

Some half time team talk there Daley.

Brailey being out was a huge blow for mine.

geoblocked, but surely the blues are more popular in nsw? haha
Here’s the actual map:

NSW obviously supports the Blues, as does the ACT and apparently also the UK and US. Everywhere else is Maroons territory. NZ is split with the North Island narrowly supporting the Blues and the South Island clearly supporting the Maroons.

PNG is closer than I thought tbh, I was under the impression that like 70% of them were Maroons fans but apparently it’s less than 60%. In saying that, this goes off NRL accounts so many people in PNG wouldn’t have them (like two thirds of the country doesn’t even have wifi at home).

curious if the numbers add to 100 or if neutrals are included

Maroons are simultaneously underdogs yet win more than they lose which is a supporters dream

Apparently it’s calculated from people with a set Origin team on their NRL account, so I’d assume that excludes people without a preference.

Yes ACT is considered NSW for Origin/RL governance purposes (Raiders Cup / previously known as Group 8, 9 and 19 at different times).

Which reminds me - I forgot to wear my Sydney FC shirt to throw everyone off today
